Description

I created this course because I want to help you start playing your mandolin quickly—and, most importantly, to enjoy every step of the journey! Many students have told me they struggled learning from books alone, and that inspired me to design this course as a friendly, easy-to-follow guide.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Play basic chords and practice strumming whilst moving between them

  • Read music using tablature (TAB - a simple and effective notation system)

  • Understand rhythms through easy-to-remember mnemonic techniques

  • Play popular and fun songs like Molly Malone and Skip To My Lou

Each lesson features clear video demonstrations, close-up shots of finger positions, downloadable TABs and PDFs so you can practice confidently at your own pace.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to play at least one tune you can be proud of—and you’ll have the essential tools and knowledge to keep developing your mandolin skills and apply them elsewhere.

Learning an instrument is a journey, and embracing mistakes along the way will help you grow as it will develop fretboard awareness as well as a stronger musical ear.

Some final words of encouragement: Be mindful of your hands, don't over do it, practice little and often and don't run before you can walk. I hope you enjoy learning how to play the Mandolin with me x

Please note: All songs have been selected in accordance with Udemy’s policy on public domain music.
