Description
Have you ever wanted to learn piano? In this class, Jacob Lamb takes you through the basics of learning the instrument, with no prior knowledge necessary! Consider this your first piano class. We'll start with the basics: Notes and terminology - using multiple graphics and views of the material to make sure nobody gets left behind or lost. We'll cover how to read sheet music, where the notes go, and share practice sheets for you to use your new skill with!
We then dive into playing two notes at a time, what a chord is, and how to play any chord in the world - which unlocks any song in the world! After the basic chord shapes, we'll cover variations of chords with root notes, suspended chords and slash chords. Finally, we'll cover how to use the pedal at your feet to aid your playing!
Each lesson video features closeup views, as well as pictures to help you grasp new information quickly and easily. There is also a unique workpage for many videos, and quizzes at the end of each section to help you connect and interact with the lesson content.
By the end of the course, you'll be able to search for any song online and begin playing through like a natural!

Instructor
Hey there!
My name is Jacob, I'm an audio/visual producer and teacher on the East Coast of the USA. I have been self-employed since 2014 working both as a musician and photographer/cinematographer.
I have found so many uses with the tools to create your own music, shoot great video and take great photos. Starting a small business? You can create your own cinematic advertisement, company jingle and nail your Instagram feed. Just want to have fun and capture memories? Playing an instrument is the greatest hobby, and the perfect photo is timeless.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
I attended Berklee College of Music in 2014 and began teaching multiple instruments in a local music studio. I then became an audio engineer at that same studio, eventually partnering with companies such as PreSonus and opening my own space in 2020. During this I was heavily engaged in cinema - filming commercials for businesses, music videos, and taking engagement/real estate shoots.
I'm always available for questions and comments at my website or my socials. Send a message and say hello!
