When stressed, the letter О is pronounced clearly, but when it is unstressed, it sounds more like “А.” Mastering this simple trick helps students sound more natural and confident when speaking Russian.

Welcome to Beginner Russian: First Steps into the Language, a fun and practical course designed for complete beginners. In just 5 structured lessons, you will start building your Russian language foundation through reading, speaking, and essential vocabulary.
No prior knowledge of Russian is required — you will be guided step by step with clear explanations, examples, and practice activities. I speak slowly and clearly, repeating words and phrases several times for your convenience, so you can practice and sound like a native speaker.
What you will learn in this 5-lesson course:
Lesson 1: Everyday Phrases — say “Hi,” “I love…,” “I have…,” and use them in short conversations with games.
Lesson 2: Numbers and Colors — count from 1 to 20, name basic colors, and describe objects.
Lesson 3: The Russian Alphabet — beginning learning the Russian Alphabet.
Lesson 4: The Russian Alphabet Letters from Ж-Я.
Lesson 5: Reading Practice — expand your vocabulary while learning the trick with the letter О (stressed vs. unstressed pronunciation).
