In today's modern society many people have lost sight of (or don't even know) who they are.
They follow a crowd, a trend, a movement in order to belong and feel part of something.
They post to Instagram, Snapchat or a host of others sites seeking validation and recognition. Defining themselves by the number of likes and followers they get.
But then they feel unfulfilled. The hole in their being is not satisfied.
Sooner or later, this leads them to ask:
Who am I? What am I doing with my life?
Many believe that in order to find the answer to this question they must travel to the far reaches of India, South America or some other country. To take exotic herbs. Go through strange healing rituals. Spend endless hours in therapy.
While this can be helpful, the truth that people seek is actually inside them. Waiting for them to uncover it. To find your true self you just need to look inside yourself.
This level 1 course begins the process to 'unwrap' yourself and move to thru the first step to becoming an authentic person. The first important step is that of self awareness. This involves getting to know yourself and who you are.
Within the course you will find clear and helpful lessons that are easy to understand. Your professor, Richard, believes in cutting away the fluff and technical/philosophical aspects so that the course is accessible to everyone.
You will find resources at the end of each module which will help you further in The Search For Self.
Enrol now and let's take a journey to self discovery.

- Anyone who has woken up and thought "I am doing the right thing with my life"
- A person who is seeking the answer to the question "Who am I?"
It's time to start to take the first steps on your journey to finding your authentic self. The is something that only you can do an you need to be honest with yourself as you reflect and search for answers.
The first step to self awareness is controlling our thoughts and feelings. In fact rather than control it is becoming aware of them and understanding that our thought process may not always be helpful. This module explores how your thoughts and feelings contribute (both in a positive and negative way) to your self awareness and how this may affect how authentic you are. I discuss the role of anchors and how they affect you.
Friendships and relationships can have a huge effect in how aware and authentic you are. Relationships need to be built on solid foundations, and sometimes we don't do this. When we pretend to be someone we are not it leads to disappoint.
In this module we examine how we portray ourselves, how our friends and colleagues can influence us and how you should ensure that you are always aware of your peer groups in order to be a better person.
Journalling is recommended as it allows you to record how you feel, what you are struggling with and allows you to see how you have changed over the causer of weeks or months.
Sometimes you believe you are on the right track, however when you write it down it suddenly becomes clear that maybe you need to make change.
In this lecture I explain how journalling helped me change my life
In order to grow as a person you need to examine your strengths and weaknesses. It's a difficult task as you may believe you are really good at something when in fact you are not self aware and don't realise that there may be room to improve.
On the other hand you may believe you are not good at something but just may need some guidance. This is explored in this lesson.
How do your friends and social groups influence you - and can you change it?
In this section I want to discuss how journalling can change your life as I truly believe that if I had not started journalling I would not be where I am today.
Values play an important part in shaping who we are. However, have you ever stopped and asked
"What are my values?"
"Where did my values come from?"
"Are these the values I actually want to live by?"
These are some of the questions you will be reflecting on in this lesson.
