Not all hardware works with VMWare's hypervisor. Therefore, before buying new hardware or even installing it check the vmware's hardware compatibily list. Most of the recent processors are compatible, but it work checking. As we can see here, not all features and ESXI versions are available on all processors.

In this video I will tell you about VMware ESXi Hypervisor.
This is installed right on top of hardware. Therefore this is called bare-metal hypervisor. ESXi installs directly onto your physical server enabling it to be partitioned into multiple logical servers referred to as virtual machines, as you can see in the picture.
As Features this offers Improved Reliability and Security. It has a footprint of only 150MB. This gives it a very small attack surface for malware and over-the-network threats, improving reliability and security.

In this video I will introduce you vCenter Server.
VMware vCenter Server provides a centralized platform for managing your VMware vSphere environments.
When your environment require, you might have multiple phisical servers with VMWare ESXi and would be difficult to manage them independly. vCenter make it possible to have on console for all server, and to manage them as a cluster.
VMware High Availability (HA) provides easy-to-use, costeffective high availability for applications running in virtual machines. In the event of physical server failure, affected virtual machines are automatically restarted on other production servers with spare capacity. In the case of operating system failure, VMware HA restarts the affected virtual machine on the same physical server. The combination of VMware HA and the other availability features of the VMware vSphere™ platform provides organizations the ability to select and easily deliver the level of availability required for all of their important applications.
With virtualization, a single server can host dozens or hundreds of virtual machines running a variety of operating systems, and even hook them together in a virtual network or cloud infrastructure. This practical course shows you how to create a virtual system using the VMware VSphere environment.
