Description

Hello Crafters !! Have you ever wondered what exactly is Tatting? Let us get to know about Tatting. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace from a series of knots and loops. Tatting can be used to make lace edging as well as doilies, collars, accessories such as earrings and necklaces, and other decorative pieces. The lace is formed by a pattern of rings and chains formed from a series of double stitches, over a core thread. Gaps can be left between the stitches to form picots, which are used for practical construction as well as decorative effect. So in this course you will learn what are the basic materials required for shuttle tatting, how to work different types of stitches using a shuttle and also terminologies used. This Course starts with how to hold the shuttle and prepare the same for tatting and we will also learn how to work Single Knots, Double Knots and Picot Stitches which are a very important part of Shuttle Tatting.

Since this is a Basic Course we will only learn how to work the stitches, very soon I will posting another course on how to do basic designs like small flowers, rings, lace etc. Before we get to that you will have to be very thorough with the stitches so my suggestion for you guys is to practice really well.
