Explore the abc connection in rebt: activating events, beliefs, and consequences form a mental loop, and identifying these elements helps dispute irrational beliefs and shift to more accurate interpretations.
Identify the activating event, your beliefs, and the resulting consequences to uncover irrational patterns; practice present-moment awareness, examine thoughts and feelings, and break the cycle.
Identify and dispute irrational beliefs through initial questions: define terms, challenge must or should demands, and expose limiting beliefs to reframe thinking and reduce suffering.
Learn to identify irrational beliefs, distinguish objective events from subjective feelings, and use logical disputation to challenge those beliefs.
Test irrational beliefs with empirical disputation against continuously proven facts from science or personal experience. Seek proofs, question assumptions, and draw more accurate conclusions rather than relying on feelings.
The lecture critiques functional disputation in life coaching, contrasting practical, result-oriented methods with deep, full disputation of irrational beliefs, emphasizing thorough integration and psychological stability.
Explore Socrates disputation within REBT, linking stoic philosophy to cognitive therapy, and practice assumptions and reasoning questions to challenge irrational beliefs.
Explore the Lefkow disputation for REBT: visualize events as a mental cinema, compare friends’ interpretations, and adopt the most accurate view to strengthen rational beliefs.
Strengthen your rational beliefs by disputing irrational thoughts, visualizing alternative interpretations, and embracing internal motivation through exercises like the shame exercise, breathing, affirmations, and journaling.
Basics of REBT-Introduction to rational way of living
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy basics
This is module 1 of my cognitive based personal development methods course, that will be published on Udemy in May. This course is basic, very informative, starters friendly but also practical. I offered introduction to rational emotional behavioral therapy, one of my favorite and most frequently used modalities within psychotherapy nowadays.
This course is very concise, practical and gives you everything you need in order to start finding your irrational beliefs, connecting activating events, beliefs and consequences into conscious wholeness and start disputing those limiting beliefs from there. I gave ways and questions, ways to use almost all types of disputation in disputation chapter.
In the last video finally, I gave explanation how all (ABCDE) elements work together and how you can make new rational flexible beliefs even stronger. Remember, this is just an introduction course. It is on you to get maximum out of it by using information and sharpening skills presented in this 1 hour short course. I believe that self improvement will save the World by increasing collective consciousness. Everything starts with us! Every constructive permanent change starts from within! By becoming best possible version of ourselves we neutralize others with low vibrations and minimize damage and possibilities that something bad will happen. Personal growth and self improvement was everything I ever really had and on those skills I could rely on, always and without an exception. This is something that nobody can take away from you, this is something that will permanently make you better as person and your life will gradually become better. Practice is the only way.
