Welcome to this basic reservoir engineering course! Reservoir engineering is a branch of petroleum engineering that focuses on the behavior of subsurface fluids, primarily oil and gas, within a reservoir. It involves the application of scientific and engineering principles to optimize the recovery of hydrocarbons from underground reservoirs.
In this course, we will cover the fundamental concepts of reservoir engineering, including reservoir rock properties, fluid properties, corning and lab-testing, reservoir pressure. We will also discuss the different types of reservoirs, recovery mechanisms, and reservoir management.
The instructor tried to add couple of resources files pinned under each lecture to cover the topics in more details, plus there are quizzes along with lecture to cover some of the important aspects.
By the end of this course, you will have a good understanding of the basic principles of reservoir engineering, and be able to apply them to real-world problems. Whether you are new to the industry or looking to refresh your knowledge, this course will provide you with the foundational knowledge necessary for success in reservoir engineering.
Last but not least, the course originator will continue update the course so that we can cover the topics that are missed or new topics to develop our understanding and climb the ladder of success in this important major.
