We swim breaststroke with our hands, legs kicking in crawl slowly, hands stretched a bit deeper than our head, something like 35cm from the water line.
After 10-12 m we stand slowly.
We walk in the shallow water something like 1m deep, both shoulders in the water, our hands like a windmill, palm a bit opened and loose.
When the hand touches the water we glide at the same depth as the previous exercise. *in order to balance our legs and to protect the lower back, first make the step with the right leg and glide with the right leg and the same way with the left hand & leg.
We swim without breathing 10-12m with our hands strait & loose, when the hand touches the water we glide slowly in the water.
After we run out of air or we reach 12m we stand up slowly. The purpose of the exercise is to loosen the shoulders and open the lungs.
We put one hand in 35 cm from the water line, second hand next to the thigh, kick for 5 seconds slowly & swap hands, during the kicking the head has to stay strait. Learning the superman drill will help us glide more, float better and eventually help you breathe easily.
We walk and stop in each important point
1- Palm touching slowly
2- Elbow entering the water while the hand is downwards.
3- Shoulder touching the chin.
Our goal is in one hand, not to lift the elbow high in order for us to loosen the neck and in the other hand not to let the elbow fall in the water before the palm and create a "stop" in the water.
We swim freestyle and think about the 3 points at the end of the glide, in the 3rd point try to wait a bit while stretching.
We swim freestyle WEST without moving the head and count strokes without breathing, when we run out of air stand up slowly, inhale just once and continue swimming. Send me if possible the number of strokes you did in 25m pool
We walk in the shallow water with the head facing down, hands in freestyle counting 3 strokes, every 3rd stroke we inhale slowly and continue walking with hands moving. The purpose of this exercise is to get used to breathing slowly and protect the neck while walking.
** exactly like drill 1 -
Swim a slow freestyle without breathing. Our goal is to loosen the neck and drag the legs while swimming.
Swim freestyle and breathe every 3 strokes, the goal in swimming WEST is let the glide turn the body, by that you will gain more air and protect the lower back and neck.
Count your strokes in 25m pool and send me the number of strokes.
Some times we think we have a breathing problem, but the reason we don't have enough air is the drag that our legs create.
