Hello Friend!
Thank you for checking out this course! I made it with you in mind and I know you will find great value embedded in each drawing! In this course I outline and describe how to use a ballpoint pen to achieve different textures and how to combine these different textures to create a well balanced drawing. I take you through some useful drawing exercises, the supplies that I use, and four complete drawings. As we progress through the different lessons you will master different textures and gain confidence as you continue to draw with a ballpoint pen.
Each exercise drawing features opportunities to practice different tonal values. We will practice creating tonal values to give us a believable surfaces, light and dark elements, and cast shadows. For example, the drawing of a marble helps us to embrace the white of the paper as a highlight, and teaches how to use the deeper tones that the pen will give us very strategically so we can achieve the illusion of light moving through the marble. Another example is the portrait of a horse, this drawing helps us to observe subtle differences in a rounded surface with hair.
