⚠️ Disclaimer – Please Read Before Trying the Techniques ⚠️
The manual techniques demonstrated in this course are designed to help you develop a better awareness of your body, improve proprioception, enhance sensations, reduce tension, and promote mobility, suppleness, and blood flow to your vocal and supporting structures. These exercises are meant to gently guide your body towards more ease and efficiency—not to force anything.
✅ Listen to your body: These techniques should NEVER cause pain. If a movement or direction feels uncomfortable, try the opposite one or reduce the intensity. Always stay below your personal threshold of effort—the goal is subtlety and release, not strain or force.
✅ This course provides general guidance and is meant for educational content only, for singers looking to explore their body's potential. If you have any pre-existing conditions, injuries, or concerns, please check with your healthcare provider before trying any of these techniques to ensure they are appropriate for you.
Your voice and body are unique—treat them with care. Take your time, explore with curiosity, find what feels good (this might change from day to day and it is okay! we are not robots !) and always prioritize comfort and ease! ??
Checklist for recording yourself
Full-body (from head to toe, with enough space for you to see what your hands and feet are doing)
Front, back side views
Close-ups (to see what your face, jaw and tongue do)
When reassessing at the end or during the course, try to find a similar framing and sing the same song!
You can use the audio file to go through your video recording and observe which compensational /tension patterns you have put into place and can work on.
Unlock Your Voice: Osteopathic Manual Techniques for Singers
Ground your body. Free your voice. Perform with confidence.
This one-hour video is designed for singers and performers who want to prepare their bodies for the demands of high-level performance. Drawing from osteopathic principles, you’ll learn manual techniques that target key restrictions affecting vocal freedom, resonance, and breath support.
Whether you’re preparing for a concert, recording session, or audition, these hands-on strategies will help you:
Release tension in the diaphragm, neck, jaw, and thorax
Improve alignment and grounding for better breath control and projection
Enhance vocal tone and resonance by restoring tissue mobility and balance
Feel physically and vocally prepared for the rigors of live performance
This video is a standalone guide to manual self-techniques, extracted from a broader vocal health and performance course developed by an osteopath specializing in voice.
It’s ideal for singers, vocal coaches, and actors looking to integrate body-based strategies into their vocal practice.
No prior experience in osteopathy required—just your hands and your voice.
