Born in Russia to a Ukrainian father and a Russian mother, Maxim's musical roots run deep; his grandfather served as the bandmaster of a military band in Lviv, Ukraine.
From a young age, Maxim has been captivated by the powerful resonance of the cello. His illustrious career has seen him perform in over 700 concerts across the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, South Korea, and China, both as a soloist and with various orchestras. A talented recording artist, Maxim has released six CDs with the esteemed Swiss Classical Label, Claves Records. Some of his favorite performance venues include the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Merkin Concert Hall and Town Hall in New York, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, California.
Maxim's impressive educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Moscow State Conservatory and a Graduate Performing Diploma from the prestigious Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in the USA. As a testament to his exceptional skills, Maxim is a prize winner of the Russian National Cello Competition. In recent years, he has been invited to Macau, China, and Portugal for three tours, performing as the Guest Principal Cellist in the Macao Orchestra.
