Even the ancients were dealing with mental health disorders, as a matter of fact, pretty much identical to the ones we are facing today. Sometimes gaining new perspectives can greatly aid in our ability to be effective in helping others and ourselves.
Ayurveda, "The Science of Life", is interesting in that by learning it we can acquire so much insight into understanding why people behave the way they do. We can also begin to understand why they have certain personality characteristics. It can aid us in understanding ourselves and how to live in harmony with nature from the inside out.
Ayurveda can seem esoteric for some. It can be hard to grasp because we often are dealing with concepts that seem so foreign and defy our regular way of thinking. That is why this course was intentionally made with You (the learner) in mind. It is delivered in a clear, concise way as not to create confusion. You will also see themes that repeat themselves through other Ayurvedic courses. This re-enforces understanding and retention of the content.
What you will learn:
Learn the ancient ways of classifying mental health disorders which will provide new perspective on top of any contemporary or mainstream ideas you may already know.
Learn the basics of Ayurveda such as understanding the doshas (universal energies). The repetition of this material from Well-Being Through Ayurveda will really solidify your ability to know the Doshas on a deep level which is critical to really "getting" what Ayurveda is all about.
Learn techniques for correcting mental health imbalances. We will go over some basic treatment protocols for rebalancing certain disturbances so you can have a basis for looking at more complex issues.
Learn the basic structure for understanding herbal and dietary energetics. This will allow you to be able to properly identify what an herb is going to do to the body, how it will affect the doshas and thus correct a particular imbalance.
Gain new perspective in understanding human relationships. This will provide a whole new insight on how to interpret human behavior from an Ayurvedic perspective!
The more you study Ayurveda, the more the doshas (universal energies) will make sense to you and you can apply them in more and more areas. Almost everything in Ayurveda is based off understanding these doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Using this foundational knowledge you will gain you can apply these concepts to many areas aside from healthcare including business, organizations, relationships, sports and more.
You will also gain new perspective on relationships between people with varying energy types. This can be of so much benefit when it comes to creating cultures of understanding and cohesion. It can also benefit your close relationships: friends, family, and romantic. Learning Ayurveda can be truly life changing. It allows us to see life from a lens that shows us all the things we were missing!
WELL-BEING THROUGH AYURVEDA
This course is geared towards acquainting you will the working principles of Ayurveda. Through understanding the energetics of life and the interaction between the outside world we can manage our health and assist in our treatment protocols. The ancient seers and physicians of India coded each element of the universe into a system of Gunas (qualities) and discovered the interaction between the life energies Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (earth). This course is designed to help you understand the working principles of those energies and their relationship to well-being. Plant medicine is gaining more and more popularity as more and more people are waking up to the dangers of man-made pharmaceuticals.
We will go over:
Vata, Pitta, Kapha (3 Energies) which is the basis for understanding all of Ayurveda so you can have a solid foundation to build off of which mean you can later incorporate advanced concepts with ease.
Basics of Ayurvedic Physiology/Biology which will provide you with looking at the body through the lens of Ayurveda so you can later determine how to correctly assess and correct any imbalances that may occur.
A base knowledge of how to evaluate the energetics of foods & herbs. This is important so you can know how particular foods and herbs can not only create imbalances but also re-balance the body & mind.
Identifying Prakriti (Bodily Makeup) which will allow you determine what types of tendencies or conditions a person may be prone to based off their natural makeup.
How to Re-Balance the Body. Even though this is a beginner course we will get right into the juicy meat of Ayurveda on the basics how to correct certain conditions.
Well-Being Through Ayurveda will provide you a strong foundation of Ayurveda to understand more in-depth studies. The lectures are condensed as to get right to the point of what you need to know.
