AVC 101 is a foundation course on valve flow simulation using Autonomous Valve CFD, where we dive deep into the key aspects of valve flow performance through cutting-edge CFD simulation software - Autonomous Valve CFD (AVC). This series was designed to provide valuable insights into the fundamentals of valve flow simulation, empowering professionals with the knowledge and tools to optimize valve designs and solve critical performance challenges. The best part? No CFD expertise required.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Valve Flow Coefficient (Cv) and Hydrodynamic Torque Coefficient (Cdt) and their pivotal role in valve sizing.
- Discover how the Cv and Cdt curves are generated through flow loop testing, following the ANSI/ISA–75.02.01 standards.
- Learn how the Autonomous Valve CFD app helps overcome the challenges of conventional methods and generate detailed valve performance data without the need for CFD expertise.
This course includes a do-along step-by-step tutorial of a DN 400 Triple offset Butterfly valve, which helps you to start your first valve flow simulation using the Autonomous Valve CFD (AVC) app. The CAD file required to start the tutorial is provided as a downloadable resource. The steps to get free trial access to the software are included in the course.
