Description

In this course, you will learn the absolute basics of automotive.


First, we will talk about the basic terminology used in the automotive field; horsepower, torque, engine cylinders, engine size, gearbox speed, RPM, and chassis. All of these terminologies will be discussed with given examples.


Next, we will discuss the 5 main parts that any car should have; Engine, transmission, wheel, steering wheel, and brakes. You cannot drive a car without any of these parts.

After that, we will classify cars based on their size, and their use; Microcars, Segment A, B, C, D, E, and F, minivans, sports cars, and off-road cars. Examples will be given.


Also, we will talk about the main engine types; Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Electric Motor (EV), and Hybrid engine which can be Plugin Hybrid (PHEV) or Mild Hybrid (MHEV). Advantages and disadvantages will be discussed as well.

Furthermore, we will learn the differences between the main types of transmissions; Manual, and Automatic. Advantages and disadvantages will be discussed as well.


Finally, we will differentiate between different types of drivetrains; two-wheel drive which can be Front or Rear-wheel drive (FWD) and (RWD) respectively, Four-wheel drive (4WD), and All-wheel drive (AWD). Each drivetrain has its own purpose, advantages, and disadvantages as well.


The content of this course is simple and super easy to learn for anyone who has zero knowledge about automotive.
