The College Athletic Recruiting Process
What you'll learn

- Step 2 - learn how to market yourself so that college coaches know who you are and are able to evaluate you as a perspective student-athletes, and
- Step 3: Learn which school is the best choice based on academics, admissions, financial aid, coaches, facilities, teammates, playing time, etc.
Requirements

Description
By Wayne Mazzoni. NCAA Coach Since 1992.
This course is for high school athletes and their parents. Ideally one should begin this course any time from the 8th grade up to fall of senior year. The course is designed to take you at your own pace. One section might take you two months, the next two days. The course is set up to take you through the recruiting process in a systematic organized and structured manner. It is developed by an NCAA College coach who has been recruiting for 20 years.
There are a million sites where you can put your profile and information only to sit and wait and hope a college coach finds you. If only it was this easy. It is not. College coaches don't log on websites to find their recruits.
This course will teach you what you should and should not do to manage the process from creating your list of schools at the start to making your final college choice at the end.
Who this course is for:
- Student-athletes beginning in the 8th grade and their parents, coaches, counselors, and administrators
Instructor
I have been a college coach since 1992 and am currently coaching at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. An NCAA Division 1 school in the Northeast Conference. Previously I have coached at Nova Southeastern University, Fairfield University, Post University, and College of the Holy Cross.
I attended Gettysburg College and played football and baseball, graduating in 1991 with a degree in economics that I have not put into action yet! I also have a Master's in Sports Management from St. Thomas University in 1992.
In 1996 I founded a company (Mazz Marketing Inc.) with the intent of educating athletes and parents on the recruiting process. At that time (before the internet and cell phones kids) I wrote book which is still going today, although updated and upgraded many times (it comes with this court, hint, hint).
This book has changed my life. Besides appearing on Fox, ABC, News 12, WFAN (check me out on YouTube) I have also been invited to speak at over 500 high schools on recruiting. Athletic Directors of high schools hire me to speak to their athletes and parents on the recruiting process. I have been doing this for over 15 years.
Along the way I have done countless blogs, articles, interviews, and coaching work all on this topic.
