Description

This Astro Insight course is all about covering the basic concepts that make up the backbone of astrology. To clarify, I am using the Western Tropical Astrology system in my courses. There will be five sections devoted to this. I start with a bang in the first section, which introduces foundational astrology concepts, the history of astrology, and the natal birth chart. For that natal birth chart section, you will need to have an Astrology mobile app such as (CHANI, TimePassages, or The Patern) or you can go to a astrology site such as astrodenist or astroseek to calculate your birth chart. You're personal natal birth chart shows: what signs your planets are in, what the rising sign is and how the maps out your 12 houses, and the signs that each of your 12 houses is in. I encourage you to have your natal birth chart to be able to connect the planets, signs, and modalities to your own personal natal birth chart. Next, in the second section, I’ll break down the foundational astrological concepts in depth, including the four elements, three modalities, ten planets, and 12 houses. I will also explore how these foundational astrology concepts are interconnected (How the element and modality come together to form each of the 12 signs?). I will also, in the second section, introduce the four angles, which include key natal chart points like the Ascendant and Midheaven sign. In the third section, I will cover the natural energy, role in the seasonal cycle, strengths, and weaknesses of each of the 12 zodiac signs. In the fourth section, I will cover each of the 10 planets in depth, including the planetary meaning, how the sign the planet rules plays into the planet's expression, and indicators of strong planet energy of natal chart. Lastly, I will wrap up this course with the last section, where I will cover the meaning of each of the 12 Houses and what it means to have planet(s) in that area of life.

My Astro Insight course represents an original synthesis and interperation of the foundational or beginner astrology concepts. My understanding of astrology has grown and developed through the study of various books, podcasts, videos, and astrology educators. Here are the resources that have informed my broader astrology education.

- The Astrology Podcast by Chris Brennan

- The Only Astrology You'll Ever Need by Joanna Martine Woolfolk

- Educational content from various different astrology educators and astrologers

These sources supported my learning and inspired further exploration of the signs, planets, and houses. The course lectures, explanations, interpretations, organization, and instructional materials were independently developed for this course.

Who this course is for:

  • Desire to learn more about astrology beyond pop culture "Sun sign" astrology
  • Curious about the fundamental astrology concepts including elements, planets, modalities, signs, and houses
  • An open mind and a willingness to learn the basics of astrology
