    Examples

    Requirement as per ISO 14001:2015 Clause No. 6.1.2

    The organization shall maintain documented information of its:

    — environmental aspects and associated environmental impacts;

    — criteria used to determine its significant environmental aspects;

  • Basic Terms12:55

    In this Lecture i have provided the Basic terms and definitions of all terms which was used in aspect and impacts

    Basic terms

    Intended outcomes of an EMS

    Environmental Performance : performance related to the management of environmental aspects

    Environment : surroundings in which an organization operates, including air, water, land, natural resources, flora, fauna, humans and their interrelationships

    Environmental Aspect : surroundings in which an organization operates, including air, water, land, natural resources, flora, fauna, humans and their interrelationships

    Environmental condition: state or characteristic of the environment as determined at a certain point in time

    Environmental Impact : change to the environment, whether adverse or beneficial, wholly or partially resulting from an organization’s environmental aspects

  • Determining Aspect11:24

    In this lecture I've provided the process description and how can we perform Mass balancing diagram and how can we convert all the input, activities, outputs into aspects

    Examples

    design and development of its facilities, processes, products and services;

    acquisition of raw materials, including extraction;

    operational or manufacturing processes, including warehousing;

    operation and maintenance of facilities, organizational assets and infrastructure;

    environmental performance and practices of external providers;

    product transportation and service delivery, including packaging;

    storage, use and end‐of‐life treatment of products;

    waste management, including reuse, refurbishing, recycling and disposal.

  • Determininig Impact11:10

    In this lecture i have give the pollutant details and how can we determine impacts and how can we rating all significant aspects.

    Significant impacts

    Environmental criteria are the primary and minimum criteria for assessing environmental aspects. Criteria can relate to the environmental aspect (e.g. type, size, frequency) or the environmental impact (e.g. scale, severity, duration, exposure).

    An environmental aspect might not be significant when only considering environmental criteria. It can, however, reach or exceed the threshold for determining significance when other criteria are considered. These other criteria can include organizational issues, such as legal requirements or interested party concerns. These other criteria are not intended to be used to downgrade an aspect that is significant based on its environmental impact.

  • Planning of actions4:52

    Here i have explained about the planning of actions for significant aspects

    When planning actions the organization shall consider;

    establishing environmental objectives / management programmes

    identifying the need for operational controls and for what purpose?

    establish types and level of controls

    Review of existing controls / proposing additional controls; (E.S.E.A.P)

    Elimination

    Substitution

    Engineering Controls

    Administrative Controls / signage

    PPEs

    With focus to protecting the environment – prevention of pollution & other specific commitment(s)
