"Shamanism is a religious practice that involves a practitioner (shaman) interacting with what they believe to be a spirit world through altered states of consciousness, such as trance. The goal of this is usually to direct spirits or spiritual energies into the physical world for the purpose of healing, divination, or to aid human beings in some other way. Most cultures of our world have been founded on their own shamanic practices and like all things- these practices have changed, adapted and transitioned throughout the generations.
Whilst the practices, ceremonies, rituals and beliefs may have changed with the Western influence, the heart of the Shaman stays the same, the heart of love and community.
Hu MAN, since the beginning of time, has realised that there is something outside of us, something greater than us, and in the search to find that elusive greatness, often known as "Great Spirit", we often look beyond ourselves for outside recognition, connection and healing, yet over time, we have learned that we must seek that within.
Hence practices such as meditation, fasting, breathwork, ceremony, plant medicines and other techniques to support us in clearing our mind, purifying our bodies in order to connect with that "spirit" have been sought, taught and lived for many centuries.
In modern times, Shamanism refers to the practice of ritual, ceremony and honouring and paying respect for the ancient cultures that came before us, to work with their wisdom and knowledge to create a healthy and healed life and world.
Living a Shamanic Way - is the art of living ones life from the heart of a healer, from the mind of the ancient ones, from the spirit of all that came before us and from a deep and respectful connection with Pachamama - our sacred earth and all her beings.
Through honouring a life of service, respect, care for our earth and community, we can all experience and discover who we are, who we are here to become, to live our soul purpose and walk our guided path, through " The Art of Shamanic Ceremony".
With all due respect for all the shamanic cultures, teachers and practices of our great Earth, I will share with you within this program, some of the teachings, prayers, meditations and rituals of the Munay Ki - the Great practices of the Laika people, the people of Peru, that I use in my life, business and Shamanic Retreats and Training programs.
For over 20 years I have been hearing the call of the ancestors, following the messages I have received intuitively and been a seeker of truth, wisdom, healing and knowledge to heal my life, let go of the past and transmute the ancestral and genetic patterns and programs that my family have repeated lifetime after lifetime.
Has it always been easy??
HA HA No way!
Has it been a gift?
YES !
Has it been worth it?
Yes!!
Do I consider myself a Shaman?
NO.
I do however, consider myself a seeker of my truth, and welcome any messages, guidance, support and love from the Ancient Ones, The Shamans and Medicine Men and Women that came before me, my power animals, Pachamama, Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, Star Nations, and the elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Air and all four directions; South, West, North, East and always, from Great Spirit.
May I do all that I can, to live my life through the "art of Shamanic Ceremony".
I welcome you to my community of healers, medicine men, medicine women, the dreamers, the lightworkers, the conscious beings.
much love and gratitude to you
x Natalie
Sacred space can be anywhere, anywhere that we declare and set an intention of love, light, peace and harmony. They are the spaces we can create as we live our lives exploring "The Art of Shamanic Ceremony".
Creating sacred spaces in nature is one of my most favourite things to do. My altar is my sacred space and mother nature protects us in her womb.
As we explore the shamanic pathway, we begin to understand that everything and everywhere is sacred. When we sit in reverence with mother nature, we are creating sacred space.
Our sacred space is an energetic space, where we can release what no longer serves us, call on the wisdom and answers we seek from our ancestors and guides and a space where we open our own energy centres, eg chakras to be one with the Universe.
It is therefore vital that we ensure this space stays clear of other energies, protected from energies that are not of the light and in turn protect our own energetic self.
Each time you sit in your sacred space you can open and close this space this way - this also ensures the space is protected.
light candle and sweep the flame to your heart and in turn, sweep the energy of the fire into each chakra
close your eyes and become present with my breath
light some sage, or palo santo and smudge your space
call in your angels, guides, ancestors, power animals ( I work with jaguar, snake, hummingbird and eagle) and ask them to protect your medicine space, your sacred space, your environment
you may like to drum or play your rattle to the four directions to create an energetic shield of protection
you may like to visualise a white light surrounding your space
you may have a special prayer or mantra you say (I use the Munay Ki Prayer)
Once you have completed your meditation, guidance, healing, ceremony etc you may like to do the following;
thank your guides, ancestors, angels, power animals for their guidance and protection and ask that they continue to protect your sacred space
smudge the area again
blow our your candle
drum or play your rattle to close your space
visualise white light around your body as you leave your sacred space
From time to time it will be necessary to clean, dust and smudge your sacred space to ensure the area stays free of heavy, dense energy.
Your sacred space acts as a portal for you to access the Universe and those that came before us - it does a lot of work!!
So treat your space with reverence, respect, care and gratitude.
A Medicine wheel can be used when we desire to create or manifest something into our life. It is a way of connecting with the directions and power animals for their wisdom and guidance.
Sitting alone in Ceremony with Cacao is one of the most powerful mindfulness tools you can experience. In stillness, we become who we are here to become.
Now is the time for massive Transformation - will you heed the call??
Living a Shamanic Way is a daily choice to connect with respect and gratitude to Mother Earth - our Sacred Pachamama.
As a conscious soul, I know that you have heard the voice of the ancestors calling you to connect with their wisdom so that they may support your spiritual journey.
I welcome you to my Community of Shamanic Journeyors - those who are committed to living bigger lives, more wholesome lives, and make a difference in this beautiful world of ours.
When we live our life with curiosity, question and consciousness, we will awaken our innate gifts, our soul gifts, intuition and be a greater contribution to others.
When we live our life "knowing" we are connected to everyone and everything - then we can begin to live a life of shamanic practice.
When I began to live my life using these practices, I let go of my attachments to others, my obligations to others, my expectations to be "like" every body else.
I fully embraced the gift that the Shamanic practices are to me and I now acknowledge that my life is full, happy and of great value.
Now is the time, the time for us to clear and heal the past, to let go of what doesn't serve us and to open our hearts to become ONE with the Universe.
The meditations, practices and rituals within this program will support you as you discover who you really are, let go of who you are not and access other wisdom from the other worlds that existed before us.
