What is the course schedule?
I recommend taking this course 2 modules per week for 2 weeks. Often people feel overwhelmed when they try to master a bunch of materials at once, which can lead to dropout or quick burnout, or vice versa - when you want to go through everything quickly with sleepless nights non-stop, but in reality there is very little sense in it.
Don't do that, if you agree, then read on!
In learning, a strategy that involves slowly and regularly absorbing the material is usually more effective, allowing you to conserve energy and better understand all the concepts. To complete this course, you will need a little more than 6 hours to familiarize yourself with all the materials, and an additional 5 days or so to practice and hone your skills.
What equipment do I need to take the course?
Of course! Hardware and software are important, but we focus on developing your knowledge. All the editing will be done in DaVinci Resolve, we recommend using this program. It will be your biggest investment.
What about a powerful computer or laptop?
We have created Proxy files for you that do not require a powerful computer, we recommend that you have a large screen for easy editing. What matters is the skills and knowledge that you can repeat with any software or camera!
Welcome to the "Art of Editing" online course, I'm sincerely glad you've made it here and I'll be even more happy if you become a better editor after this course. In this module, you will plunge into a world where every shot and transition plays a key role in creating an emotional resonance with the audience, because editing is the ability to create emotions that touch the viewer through the screen. We'll start with the basics of editing, exploring the three main questions you should ask yourself before you start.
You'll learn how to choose the perfect program for your edit and why it should be Davinci Resolve.
Organizing and setting up your project will provide a foundation on which to build structured and narrative stories with ease. You'll learn how to choose the footage that tells your story most effectively and how to select music that complements the emotional tone of your piece.
Sound is transformed into a physical sensation through the power of sound design, deepening the viewer's immersion in your world. You'll also learn the basics of color correction and the psychology of color, so that each shot you take conveys more than just an image. And finally, we'll show you how to efficiently export and render your projects for different platforms, ensuring that your story reaches every viewer in the best possible quality.
The Art of Editing will not only teach you the technical aspects of video editing, but will also allow you to experience the power of storytelling through editing, opening up possibilities for your creativity.

Plot: What story do you want to tell? What is its structure?
Purpose. Why do you want to convey this story to the audience? What do you want them to do afterwards?
Elements of the story. Shooting style, editing, sound, emotions...
Characters and locations. Who are your main characters? What impact will they have on your audience?
Who will shape your audience? Who will see this video in the first place? Will they be new customers? What emotions will they experience?
It's time to edit the video!
