When it comes to treating pain, both acupressure and aromatherapy are incredible modalities for pain relief. However, by combining them and using the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of specific essential oils on the acupressure points and then performing acupressure on those points we get an incredible synergistic effect which is much more potent at relieving pain than by using aromatherapy or acupressure by themselves.
Here in your resources I have a summary so that if you need to check which oils are great for spasms, or inflammation or bruising etc then you can easily access this to check. I also have the entire list of points and essential oils for each painful condition. I have also added a PDF file with acupressure charts for your to see were they are on the body.
Here are the two essential oils that you need for the entire course. I have a list of several essential oils that you can use other than these two but , lets say that you don't have any essential oils at all, then I suggest that you simply get these two.
We will be using essential oils that have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects however some essential oils also have a cooling effect like lavender and peppermint so are better at treating conditions that need to be cooled such as acute inflammation and flare ups of arthritis. Then there are other essential oils that have a warming effect such as ginger or black pepper which are used to treat pain that feel better with warmth such as chronic lower back pain and arthritis joints that are worse in cold weather.
Here is how you can tell whether you should be using essential oils which are warming or the ones that have cooling properties on the body to ease pain.
I am going to show you which points are great for stress relief and the oils to use if there is a stress component such as headaches or neck pain and tension. We will not only use the acupressure points to ease the pain but will also stimulate the points to decrease stress levels as well to better get to the core of the problem.
It is imperative that you dilute the essential oils first. It is very easy to do so here I will run you through it so that you know your dilution rates.
I also have made this course extremely easy in the fact that none of the recommended essential oils in my lists are contraindicated for pregnant women and nursing mothers so there is no need to cross check.
