  • Lesson 12:42

    You will learn 3 arabic letters:

    - ب : which is equivalent to the letter 'B' in English

    - ت : which is equivalent to the letter 'T' in English

    - ث : which is equivalent to the letters 'Th' in the English word 'thanks'.


    You will also learn three short vowels of Arabic:

    - فَتْحَة (fatḥah) : which is equivalent to the English vowel 'a'

    - كَسْرَة (kasra) : which is equivalent to the English vowel 'i'

    - ضَمَّة (ḍammah) : which is equivalent to the English vowel 'u'


    You will learn how to read the three Arabic letters you just learnt with the short vowels to them.

  • Practice 13:24

    In this video we will practise reading letters ب, ت and ث.

    We will also practise the reading the short vowels fatḥah ⟨فَتْحَة⟩, kasrah ⟨كَسْرَة⟩ and ḍammah ⟨ضَمَّة⟩.

    Make sure you pause when the question screen appears to allow yourself time to answer the questions.

    In this video we're going to practise the words we've learnt so far as well as some new words. Focus on the the different forms each letter takes when it appears at the beginning, middle or end of a word. Refer to the lesson's pdf resource throughout the course.

    In this lesson we're going to learn: Yā' Leen (ياء لين) Wāw Leen (واو لين) This is when Yā' or Wāw have a Sukun and are preceded by a fatha or an Alif (when it's acting as a long vowel).

    In this video we're going to learn a new Ḥarakah (diacritic) called Shaddah (شَدّة)‎‎. When shaddah is placed on a letter, you read the letter once with a sukoon and once again with the vowel on the shaddah.

Description

Arabic can be very difficult; especially for someone without prior knowledge. The best way to learn the Arabic language is in baby steps. We have built a course that teaches only a few letters and principles per lesson along with plenty of practice.
