Description
In this course you will learn about the letters of Arabic Alphabet. You will learn about:
1) the names of letters and sounds
2) the articulation points (Makharij) of each letter with the help of 2-D and 3-D models.
3) Lightness or heaviness of each letter (Characteristics)
4) Connecting forms of each letter
5) How to write each letter
6) English equivalent of each letter
7) Transliteration table
This course consists of 3 introductory videos + 44 videos from the course of "Qur'anic Arabic Recitation with Tajweed Rules" only.
This is Level-1 for "Qur'anic Arabic Recitation with Tajweed Rules". You can continue with other levels after completing this course (Level-1).
After completing this course (Level-1):
- you should be able to read, write, speak and understand all letters of Arabic Alphabet with appropriate practice.
- you should be able to understand and use the articulation points for each letter and their sounds.
- you should be able to differentiate between light and heavy letters.
- you should be able to know the connecting forms of each letter.
- you should be able write each letter when it is used in the beginning of a word, middle of a word or at the end of a word.
- You should be able to use the transliteration sings and symbols for all letters of Arabic alphabet.

Khalid Ahmad Khattak is a researcher and TA at the School of Computing and Mathematics, Keele University, UK. He obtained his MSc degree in Computer Science from the School of Computer Science (2016) at the University of Birmingham, UK. He received his B.Eng degree in Computer Systems Engineering with Business Management (2013) from the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering (formally known as Electronic, Electrical and Computing Engineering) at the University of Birmingham, UK. He studied Foundation Year in Engineering (2007) at Coventry University, UK and BSc (part-I) Mathematics and Physics (2005) (from F.G College for Boys, Peshawar) at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He is pursuing his BA degree in Islamic Studies from the Knowledge International University.
He has been delivering demonstration work in labs for different modules since January 2020 at Keele University. He has also been teaching GCSE Mathematics to underprivileged students through the charity, Action Tutoring, Since September 2019. He was a Teaching Associate at the University of Birmingham, UK, from 2014 to 2019. He was a Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) from November 2015 to September 2016 and worked as a Healthcare Support Worker from 2007 to 2015 with NHS England.
