
This is the introduction about the course "Applied Buddhism for Life Management". From that, the student can know how this course is structured and what can he/she learn from this course. This course is based on the Buddhism from non-religious point of view. After completion of this course, you can utilize the teaching from Buddhism in your daily life to be successful and peaceful at the same time.
In this chapter, the student can learn about the founder of the Buddhism; the Buddha. He/she can learn the life of the Buddha and how he become a Buddha. Additionally, the student can study the personality and attitude of the Buddha and how the he teach the Dhamma to his followers. Finally the student can be able to learn the answers of some "frequently asked questions" on the Buddha and the Buddhism.
In this chapter, the student can start to learn of the most famous teachings in Buddhism; The Anatta (Non-self). Anatta is the opposite of "Self" or "Soul" which are based in many other religions. With understanding of Anatta (Non-self), he/she can understand deeply on the difference between the Buddhism and other religions. The understanding the nature of self and non-self can lead to a transformative perspective shift in way of thinking in life.
Karma - The Law of cause and effect is one of the core understandings on nature by Buddhism. Hinduism also believed in Karma, but the meaning on Karma is different from Buddhism. In this chapter, The law of cause and effect in Buddhism is explained and compare the differences in Hinduism. If we say Nature, the next thing we need to say is how the nature works, which is "the law of cause and effect". You can also find the explanation about "mind" from Buddhism perspective in this chapter.
In this final chapter, the student can able to learn about "The Middle Way" from Buddha's very first teaching. It can help to stay away from two extremes and follow Noble Eightfold Path - Morality, Concentration and Wisdom. By end of this course, the student will understand basic about "what is Buddhism" and how to apply its teachings to his/her daily life to have successful and peaceful living.

Buddhism is not a religion, but a teaching about way of living. Some have misconception that Buddhism is pessimistic. In fact, Buddhism is neither pessimistic nor optimistic. It a based on realistic view on human being’s mind and body.
Since this course is based on non-religion point of view, people with any religion and even free thinkers can learn this course because it will not ask you to convert to Buddhism nor say Buddhism is better than other religion. It will purely teach how everyone can learn the teaching of Buddha and how to utilize his teaching in our daily activities in our life.
The teaching of Applied Buddhism includes not only the way how to live peacefully, but also the way how to live successfully in life.
If you are interested the nature of mind, this course will also brief how the Buddha perceived the mind, different from the scientific view on mind.
