It is always good to understand why things work and this will explain how mindfulness impacts your emotional well-being.
Here we have the hot and cold breath meditation. Simple to do and simple to use at any time of the night or day.
Yes, you can even use mindfulness when you are brushing your teeth. You can also use it when you stop driving, switch off the engine and sit for five minutes. You can use it when you're in a queue. The principles are all the same, regardless of what activity you are doing at that time.
Some people like to walk and using mindfulness while you walk is a wonderful way of coming into the present moment and clearing your mind of obsessive thinking.
This exercise will show you how to acknowledge and accept difficult emotions without them overpowering you. It's very similar to the RAFT technique but for emotions rather than thoughts.
This lecture will allow you to categorise the meditations and make a decision on which ones work for you. Then put them into your daily practice.
We have worked through the inner child introduction and now we meet the parents. Inside all of us is a parent which can help better take care of us. This section shows you how to access that parent for your best outcome.
The two parents within us are the critical parent and a loving parent. We look at these and the effects they have on us.
In this lecture you will learn how to use the loving parent to better take care of your inner child. When your in a child feels they are being looked after, they have more trust and less fear and this brings down anxiety.
After completing this lecture you will have three ways to use your inner parent to look after your inner a child.The first one looks at regular journalling.
The second way to reparent your inner child looks at why you need to honour your in a child's message to you.
In this third way to reparent your in a child, you look at ways to have more fun and more playtime. Yes, playtime is super important and now is the time to put this in place.
We all get triggered by something either inside or outside of us. Some of our reparenting exercises can make a big difference to our triggers and this lecture shows you how to calm yourself down next time you have been triggered.
This lecture explains how you can become aware of what works in your best interest at every minute of the day. It gives you tools and techniques to work through anything that doesn't feel is right for you and keep your attention on your own best interest.
These exercises strengthen our ability to identify emotions and feel them, which grounds us in the present moment. Recognizing which part is activated and how it got triggered helps us care for these parts of ourselves. Doing these exercises regularly acquaints us with the Loving Parent within each of us.
Loving parents provide their Child with solid emotional foundations, and nurture healthy identity development. They love, protect, listen to, appropriately touch, and guide their Child gently through the trials and tribulations of growing up. This exercise helps you to identify what you do, and could do, to build that resilience.
Our Inner Child emerges when we experience traumas that are too overwhelming for us to emotionally process. Emotionally we fragment or compartmentalise parts of our personality. This exercise gives you instruction, tools, or support to work through the events that we thought would seriously harm us.
Visualization is a helpful tool that gives participants actual images of their tiny Inner Child. That image allows us to more readily accept the Loving Parent/Inner Child idea.
If we ask our Inner Child what they need from us, each one will give us some variation of: “Love me, protect me, hear me, hug me, and heal me.” This exercise helps you to identify what your inner child needs from you.
Our relationship with our Inner Child improves as we treat them with more respect. They quickly and automatically tell us if we are hurting them in some way. When they do, we, the Loving Parents, need to stop, make amends, and change our behavior. They will also tell us when other people are not treating them right so we can confront those people or get away from them. Working with our Inner Child will allow up to be more productive, have more fun, and become more serene. This lecture shows you how to do that.
