Animated Icons in After Effects

In this chapter we will create a new scene for our icons and also choose the grid size and color to match our project.

Students will be able to learn how to create shapes with shape layers inside After Effects and they will also understand the intricacies of Shape layer contents and its usability in-terms of design and animation with perfect key frames and speed graph editor. Students will also learn about masking of 2 similar color shapes.

We will learn to design and animate 2 shapes simultaneously by creating a Null Transformer for exclusive control over the animation from outside of the shape layer by keeping in mind the perfect timing while the contents of shape layer also being animated separately within the layer itself.

We will learn to use pen tool to create lines and animate it by using trim paths. The lines will represent as text and the same line will transform into the mobile phone screen in the next chapter.

We will learn to transform our credit card icon into mobile phone icon by using the very same shapes from card icon. This chapter is very important for students learn so that they can make their future animations creatively.

Students will learn to create wind icon to simulate the fast flip motion of the credit icon. We will use circle shape layer and  trim paths to create the wind.

We will learn advance techniques to design the shop shade. This chapter is a bit tricky but I will walk y through it in the easiest possible way. This new animation technique will definitely help you in future projects.

We will learn to create scrolling text that can easily be controlled with effects like Cc repeat tile and will mask it to keep inside the desired  area. After learning this technique you can easily create scrolling shapes etc.

In this chapter we will learn how to connect all the layers in a comp to one Master Null so that we can animate every layer via master Null rather than animating each and everything separately.  This technique will save us lot of time.
