Hello! Welcome to my course. Have you ever thought of going to a Chinese art exhibition and being able to enjoy knowing how to look at them? Have you ever wanted to collect Chinese art but were unsure how to look at a Chinese Painting? Have you ever wanted to start learning to paint using Chinese ink and paper? Or you simply wanted to take a glimpse into the world of Chinese art? In this course, "An Introduction to the Appreciation of Chinese Paintings," I will share with you the differences between looking at Chinese and Western paintings, and I will also teach you the six (6) simple methods to appreciate Chinese paintings by using various examples from over the history of Chinese art. The six simple methods include:
Opening, Continuation, Turning, and Conclusion
Encircling Composition
Blank Space
Two Mountains Divided by Water
Composing with Patches
The Hash-sign composition
It is suitable for everyone interested in the arts or Chinese culture. Please feel free to come and join us! After finishing the course, you will be asked to try visually analyze a Chinese landscape painting using the methods that you learn. Let's see how much you can get!
