What you'll learn
- Problem solving skills
- Decision making
- Checking answers
Requirements
- Addition and multiplication
Description
Go through the problems in past AMC papers to demonstrate good approaches to problem solving. Rejects the idea that you have to practice lots of questions mindlessly to get better. Do not just do a paper and move on. Enjoy the problems for longer and get better. Just because you think you can do the problems doesn't mean you are doing it the right way, because if you were how come you can't solve the harder problems? Are you looking for a different approach or do you want your one approach to be more robust?
Also why are you just checking your answers on the answer key when you are finished? Do you think that is a good way to learn mathematics? Where is your answer key when you get into the exam?
Are the questions doable without the multiple choice options?

Join me for meaningful learning that will have lasting value.
Much of the content takes a student through the experience of solving a problem from scratch, learning a concept rigorously or applying a concept to a problem. This process is filmed and presented here with basically no editing. To be truly great at maths you cannot just memorise disconnected facts you need to learn how to think, how to link and how to learn. For younger students we have the luxury of applying the things we learn in math olympiad problems. I look forward to seeing you in class!
