Once you have plenty of ideas, the next stop is to continue your research to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

Remember, we don't just want good ideas, we want the perfect product to launch and make profit from.

There are various different methods to doing this research, which you can cross reference to make the most informed business decisions. We will cover all of that in this module.

Keywords & The Top Ten

One of the quickest ways to verify competition is to focus on your top keywords for a particular product, and do your research on the top ten products for that keyword right within Amazon's search results.

You should gather data about the top ten for assessment:

• Number of reviews
• Estimated sales
• Quality of product listings

So now we know how to find and validate a product, let's move on to another important part of the research process. Making sure your product will generate profit.

As far as business financials go, this is the most exciting part to work on.

This module will walk you through the process of figuring out your expected revenue, expenses and profit, before you go ahead with the launch.

Profit Analysis: Top Level Example

Here's a recap example of how a top-level breakdown might look:

• Product price: $30
• Production & Import costs: $10
• Amazon Fees: $10
• Profit = $10

If you layer in estimated sales you can start to figure out your income. For example, 300 units per month (roughly 10 products per day) would land you a profit of $3000 per month or $36k a year!

Just imagine what you can achieve on Amazon by selling a handful of products?!

The top tip here is to look out for products that are selling well, with low average ratings (3.5 stars or less). Here is your golden opportunity to tap into the demand with a higher quality product and listing.

All you need to do is read the bad reviews to find out what you need to do to improve it. This is a killer product research method that you can add to your process now and in the future.
