Description
In this course, you'll learn how to turn a basic wood tray into a piece of art. It can be used to stand as a shelf sitter or as a tray to put things in. I'll teach how to use alcohol ink, basic hand lettering tips and how to resin the tray.
Alcohol inks are so much fun to play with. You’ll need a special paper to make sure that it works properly. It’s amazing what all designs you can get by using different techniques such as blowing them with a straw.
You can use the same things I’m teaching you in this course on different projects. I use them on my Christmas ornaments and other framed art. They make wonderful gifts. The recipients can hardly believe that you made this. They can be personalized for family members or friends. Or you could take orders and make some for money.
Working with resin can be intimidating. But it’s not as scary as you think. Watch as I show you how to mix it and pour it onto the tray. You’ll need to have some thing to get the bubbles out so I use a blow torch. It takes a long time for the resin to cure so pouring it right before bedtime is my suggestion.
