I've used this lecture in other resin courses that you may have taken, so please re-watch if you need a refresher.
Students will learn an easy trick to figure out how much art resin is needed to complete their coaster project.
In this section students will see step by step how to measure and mix Art resin. Students will have an understanding of how to make sure resin cures properly and we will cover how long students have to work with resin before it begins to cure. Attached is a Art Resin Calculator to help decide how much Art Resin one should mix. (length/wide).
In this lecture we will begin to add resin to our molds and begin using alcohol inks to tint our resin. Students may add color choices, and mix any, brand, or color they choose.
Students will pop out their coasters from the molds after 24 hours of cure time. We'll be adding a layer of black paint and adding the gold pen details.
In this lecture students will learn to add a second layer or coat of resin to cover the new details. We will be using a torch to pop the resin bubbles. We will learn to carefully add another layer and use a brush to carefully spread the resin.
Students will adhere the cork backing, finish up the edges to smooth the coaster out.
Students will mix the resin and work with a smaller mold to create a base for the Pull knobs.
In this lecture students will use Pinata inks and create similar pieces to create a unique set for Dressers, cabinets, or any piece of furniture. Create a dripping effect with the inks to cover the hardware.
Students will add hardware carefully to the resin and look creating an even space for the hardware.
Students will add a layer of resin to a shiny mold that will create a shiny finish on our resin coasters.
Students will be adding the Alcohol Inks and we will be working with layers of inks and learn to create this amazing starburst look with our coasters.
Cover our molds and get ready to reveal the finished piece. We'll cover how to clean up the rough edges and how to lightly trim and sand.
