My exposure to AI for Marketing and Advertising began as early as the 2010s with the early adoption of AI technologies in marketing and digital advertising.
During 2010–2015, AI use was still limited and largely based on algorithms and automation. Examples included:
• Programmatic advertising using automated real-time bidding
• Algorithm-driven ad delivery by platforms such as Google and Facebook
• Early predictive analytics supporting customer segmentation and campaign optimization
During 2016–2019, AI adoption accelerated as advances in machine learning, natural language processing, and cloud computing made AI more accessible.
Examples included:
• AI-powered chatbots supporting customer engagement
• AI-based ad optimization across Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• Marketing automation platforms incorporating AI for lead scoring and personalization
• Recommendation engines shaping customer expectations across industries
Between 2020–2023, digital transformation accelerated significantly and AI became an essential marketing capability.
