What should be your next steps to maximize the impact of this course
Can you consistently make better business decisions when the data is incomplete, priorities conflict, resources are limited and the situation suddenly changes?
That is the real test of an effective business decision maker.
This course is designed to help you meet that test.
Become a more effective business decision maker by practising complex choices in a real-world simulation.
Instead of simply learning decision-making frameworks, watching lectures about AI, or studying isolated business cases, you will step into the role of a decision maker facing an evolving business challenge.
You will work through a realistic business situation at ShopEase, where customer retention is declining and the pressure to act is increasing. But the answer will not be handed to you.
You will first need to identify what the real problem is.
Is declining retention the problem itself—or only a symptom? What does the data really tell you? Which signals matter, and which are simply noise? What assumptions should you question before taking action?
At each stage, you will be challenged to think, analyse and make your own choice before comparing your approach with the recommended reasoning.
You will learn to use AI as a thinking partner, not as an answer machine. You will generate and challenge insights, validate assumptions and combine AI-generated analysis with critical thinking, relevant evidence and business judgment.
As the simulation evolves, your decisions become more complex.
You will analyse the business impact of the problem, identify what is really driving it and evaluate alternative courses of action. You will face strategic trade-offs where there is no perfect answer—only choices with different consequences.
You will then work under real business constraints.
Resources are limited. Priorities compete. Different stakeholders have different views. You will need to decide where to invest, what to prioritise and how to justify your recommendation using evidence.
Then the situation changes.
An unexpected market development challenges your assumptions. You will need to reassess the information, reconsider your choices and adapt your strategy—just as effective business decision makers must do in the real world.
This is what makes the course different.
You do not practise one isolated decision. You move through a connected sequence of decisions in an evolving business situation.
Your earlier thinking influences what comes next. New information changes the context. Trade-offs become clearer. Constraints become real. You are repeatedly required to pause, think and decide.
Through this journey, you will practise how to:
Diagnose the real problem instead of reacting to symptoms
Apply critical thinking and separate meaningful signals from noise
Use AI to generate, challenge and validate insights
Analyse evidence to identify what truly drives a business problem
Evaluate alternatives and make difficult strategic trade-offs
Make decisions when resources, information and time are limited
Assess risks, assumptions and uncertainty
Defend recommendations when stakeholders disagree
Adapt decisions when conditions change
By the end of the course, you will not simply know more about business decision making.
You will have practised the thinking process behind it.
You will understand how to move from a complex business challenge to a structured decision by asking better questions, examining the right evidence, challenging assumptions, evaluating consequences and adapting when reality changes.
