What you'll learn

  • Design multi-agent systems: roles, coordination patterns, and when to split work across agents
  • Navigate the agent-building ecosystem: the OpenAI Platform and no/low-code agent builders
  • Build with the leading agent frameworks and orchestration tools: LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith and others
  • Understand the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and apply agentic coding techniques in real projects
  • See how these patterns build on the foundations from Part 1 and connect to deployment & evaluation in Part 3 of this series

Description

This course is Part 2 of the "Agentic AI: The New Software Paradigm" three-part-series, picking up right after the foundations and architecture covered in Part 1. Here, the focus shifts from theory to the real-world patterns, frameworks and ecosystem that power today's agentic applications.

You'll explore multi-agent design patterns - how to split work across agents, coordinate their roles, and decide when multiple agents actually beat a single one. From there, the course tours the practical agent-building ecosystem: the OpenAI Platform and the growing space of agent builders that let you assemble capable agents quickly.

The course then goes deep on the tooling developers actually use to build agents in production: LangChain, LangGraph and LangSmith for orchestration and debugging, plus a broader look at competing agent frameworks. You'll also learn about the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the emerging standard for connecting agents to tools and data sources, and finish with agentic coding - using agents themselves as coding collaborators.

By the end of Part 2, you'll be able to navigate the fast-moving agent framework landscape with confidence and know which tools fit which problems.

This course is Part 2 of 3 in the "Agentic AI: The New Software Paradigm" series:

- Part 1, "Agentic AI: The New Software Paradigm - Part 1": Foundations & Mental Models, Architecture & System Design, Core Agentic Building Blocks

- Part 2 (this course): Patterns, Frameworks & Ecosystem

- Part 3, "Agentic AI: The New Software Paradigm - Part 3": Deploy, Evaluate, Improve - local models, evals, observability, fine-tuning & distillation, and a concluding outlook
