Let me briefly introduce the content of this After Effects course where you will learn how to create templates and video transitions for usage in your own or clients videos over and over again. This After Effects knowledge can be applied again in the future to create more templates for resale.
If you have any trouble at all learning After Effects I have several options which will get you closer to understanding this software. I have recorded short lesson with an general overwiew on After Effects and an extensive 5-hour course teching you everything you should learn before you get started with advanced stuff.
This After Effects CS6 CC and CC2015 lesson is intended to teach you the neccesary AE basics to get you going. With help of those basic informations you will easier understand what is going on during the more advanced lessons.
Here are all the neccesary After Effects project files for AE CC, CC2015 and CS6 for your usage.
In this lesson we will prepare our first After Effects transition for our template.
This transition will involve usage of downloaded files in order to create an unique, custom tailored transition suited to our scheme.
We continue our transition journey and prepare another unique animation with help of shape layers in After Effects. This will get us closer to finish our After Effects template.
Brushy brushy is here! In this cool After Effects CS6, CC, CC2015 transition we will create a pattern by ourselves (or you can download it from the available assets in the download section) and use that to create a totally custom transition for our video content.
The 5th transition will wrap up the basics and first part of this course with a clean and simple reveal. We will use shape layers, keyframes, position, scale and rotation properties in order to create this motion graphics design.
This is a new lesson I recorded in June 2016 to update the course content with new material. It's a quick and simple technique to master a liquified / toxic animation spreading from the middle of the screen. Nice After Effects tricks shown by the way :)
Here I want to show you a quick technique to create a fish-eye transition. We work with circles but the middle of the screen doesn't quite get revealed with a circle, and that's what is cool about this transition!
This will be the first lesson from our second part of the course. We will learn together how to prepare COLOR CONTROL layers. Color controls in After Effects will allow us to change colors of certain layers all at once in one place.
Since the content gets into details I have splitted this lesson in 2 parts. Learning how to create those color controls will prepare to create After Effects templates now and in the future. There will be a bunch of useful shortcuts and techniques involved.
With this lecture I want to guide you through the COLOR CONTROL layer creation process for transition 3. If you found it troublesome to perform the steps shown in the previous lessons alone, open up After Effects and follow this one.
In this lecture I will teach you about Blending Modes and Track Mattes in After Effects. This will be a quick guide which will teach you the essential basics of those two functions and techniques.
The next step in our template-creation process for After Effects will be creating interesting reveal layers for all transitions. We will only have to create this step once and copy it over to all transitions to have beautiful possibilities of revealing our screen again.
In this lesson I would like to take you through the creative process of adding another hand drawn reveal animation.
If you perhaps have trouble doing that on your own, you can follow me and my screen on how I did add those REVEAL layers to all our After Effects transitions and animations.
This will be a technique I want to teach you which includes using Track Mattes in After Effects. Not only blending modes but aswell track mattes allow us to achieve amazing effets with 1-click tricks. Find out how you can reveal one video with another video!
Here I can show you how the person who has the template can use those transitions in order to add them into their After Effects projects or video editing work.
How can this template be used within Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, in your videos, client videos. What else is possible will be shown in this lecture.
This is a little bonus design experience I would like to share with you. From time to time we have to prepare a design in After Effects that would seem counter-intuitive to make as a graphic designer. Designing in AE is not the same as drawing in Pohotoshop where all the tools are straightforward. I want to show you a technique of making patterns with the repeater in motion graphic software.
In this lecture I would like to show you a simple approach on a minimal title opener / lower third animation. We will animate a shape layer to showcase a line going form the top of the screen towards its bottom and revealing text along the way. A few cool After Effects tricks will be included and a few track mattes sprinkled along in this design. Let's do this project together and ease some keyframes in it!
With this tutorial I would like to show you the simpliest technique in the world to create a speech bubble for a character in After Effects. A hands on activity anyone can do within a few minutes!
This tutorial will teach you how to make animated trails, strokes, and following paths behind an object. There are many ways and techniques of adding trails, for example with the echo effect and parenting but in this tutorial we will focus on creating stroke paths and using Trim Paths to reveal and hide them behind the moving shape. Just like in the example at the beginning.
Here I want to show you how to divide values of properties (or anywhere withing After Effects) for an efficient workflow.
Show off to me and fellow students what did you create with a GIF or screenshot of your After Effects work, I will be glad to verify, give hints, or simply be amazed by what you did!
At this point I would like to give you a big high five and thank for holding out until the end and probably applying the taught techniques! If you found the course interesting and informative I will be happy if you could share a review. Thank you for participation!
This is a bonus lecture for the course.
