In this lecture I will briefly introduce you to the content and tell you how to download project files to use as a preview file for the course.
In this lesson I will want you to open up After Effects and make a practice example, hands-down...right away! This should be a little warm up for you to get comfortable with After Effects and the things we will use later on.
This lesson should prepare us to perform the motion graphic animation. We need to select a nice color scheme and a font from great websites we can use, both Adobe Color, ColorHunt, Dafont and 1001 font. Those websites should make our pick easy and prepare use 100% to finish the animation.
With the first lesson we will outline and separate our text to shapes. This will teach us a little bit about working with Shape Layers and their Paths and also how to lay groundwork while we work in Adobe After Effects CC 2015
The animation on one, single letter can be perfomed in 3 steps. The first step will be to create a mask composition which will deal as the fill & animation sequence running through the letter. After Effects allows us to use the Track Matte option to be sure we will not run above the actual letter.
In the second step in our After Effects Liquid Animation fillout we will use several effects and apply them to our layers. This will allow us to work with some keyframes, apply and learn various effects in order to finalize the animation for the first letter.
In step three we will make an adjustment layer in After Effects which will deal as a effects holder on top of other layers. An adjustment layer deals as an additional place to put some elements / effects which will apply to the entire composition (or at least to the layers under it in the hierarchy. Replicate the steps to prepare one of your own!
In this lesson I want to run through the entire technique and all previous steps we did in one, concise manner. You can watch one more time how to make one letter from start to finish if you want to be more familiar on how to make it in After Effects and how to perform the continuous steps quicker.
Precomposing is very important in After Effects, no matter what you do or animate. It allows you to group items, make your composition more organized and add effects and changes in bulk to all elements within a comp. With this lecture I want to show you how you can utilize precomposing to make your animation better and colorize everything to make the reveal as liquid as possible.
Once you finish the animation in Adobe After Effects you will wonder if you did everything you could and want to have in the picture. I will show you one small trick you can emulate in order to create a few funny blobs emerging from our liquid text animation reveal. We will use native After Effects plugins to generate them.
Let me introduce you to this section by showing what type of animation you'll create here.
We start by designing an icon in After Effects
It will be much simpler to work once you already know how the effects we use affect given objects
Adjusting the Wave Warp effect in After Effects
Ripple effect in use and adjusting some keyframes
This step will be a line animation with trim paths that will lead to a water pouring addition for this liquid animation.
A final little touch on the animation to make everything look good ;)
This is a little bonus design experience I would like to share with you. From time to time we have to prepare a design in After Effects that would seem counter-intuitive to make as a graphic designer. Designing in AE is not the same as drawing in Pohotoshop where all the tools are straightforward. I want to show you a technique of making patterns with the repeater in motion graphic software.
In this lecture I would like to show you a simple approach on a minimal title opener / lower third animation. We will animate a shape layer to showcase a line going form the top of the screen towards its bottom and revealing text along the way. A few cool After Effects tricks will be included and a few track mattes sprinkled along in this design. Let's do this project together and ease some keyframes in it!
With this essential tutorial I want to teach you what does the Region of Interest in After Effects do and what can we use it for. With help of that I will show you how to adjust the size of your current composition to perfectly fit the objects you have in them. Often you do want to set keyframes on composition in order to be able to place things inside those comps so they do not get changed.
With this crispy lecture I wish to inform and teach you about the wonderful Puppet Pin Tool in Adobe After Effects. With help of this splendid tool we are able to animate any PNG image we like
With this tutorial I would like to show you the simpliest technique in the world to create a speech bubble for a character in After Effects. A hands on activity anyone can do within a few minutes!
Here I want to show you how to divide values of properties (or anywhere withing After Effects) for an efficient workflow.
In this lesson I want to teach you how to make gif animations out of After Effects compositions by rendering a video and preparing the GIF in Photoshop, and to show you how to share the work for swag or feedback within the class :)
Thank you very much for taking part in my After Effects liquid text reveal course. It was a pleasure to teach you all the techniques, effects and shortcuts to prepare such animations and I hope I was able to get you a bit into After Effects. If you'd like I would really apprecaite a review for the class. See you in other courses!
This is a bonus lecture for the course.

Learn on-trend After Effects motion graphic animation!
In this class I want to show you a quick and effective workflow allowing you to make an amazing looking liquidy-displaced text animation with After Effects CC. You could compare it to a paint bucket which would be spilled over text with random colors and made it complete. This animation can be great for any kind of youtube video, text animation, logo intro and more! During the class you will learn essential After Effects techniques as well as advanced tricks on how to top-up and make any animation a little more interesting. You will work with Track Mattes, Outlining, Shape Layers, the Pen Tool, Effects, Keyframes...so it's action-packed material!
The class doesn't require any prior Adobe After Effects CC knowledge and will let you dive straight into motion graphic design and teach you valuable skills and keyboard shortcuts along the way!
Some of the amazing fun stuff we will touch on:
