Zoom In & Duplicate Layer
Zoom into the eyes and duplicate the image layer (Cmd/Ctrl + J) to work non-destructively.
Whiten the Eyes (Sclera)
Use the Selection Brush Tool to select the white part of the eye.
Add an HSL Adjustment: slightly reduce saturation and increase lightness.
Avoid over-whitening—it should still look natural.
Enhance Iris Color
Select the iris carefully.
Add an HSL or Vibrance Adjustment to boost color subtly.
You can also increase contrast using a Curves Adjustment.
Sharpen the Iris
Apply a small amount of High Pass Filter (around 1–2 px radius).
Set blend mode to Overlay or Soft Light.
Mask it so it affects only the iris.
Dodge & Burn for Depth
Use a low-opacity brush (white/black on a soft light layer).
Lighten catchlights and darker areas for more depth.
Enhance Catchlights
Slightly brighten existing reflections using a soft brush or dodge tool.
Do not add fake highlights unless necessary.
Clean Up
Use the Healing Brush Tool to remove redness, veins, or distractions.
