What you'll learn
- Statistics & Probability
Requirements
- Basic Mathematics
Description
This course covers all the details of Statistics like range, coefficient of range of descrete and grouped data, mean deviation and standard deviation from mean of grouped and ungrouped data, weighted means, variance and coefficient of variance, comparison of two sets of observation, etc.
This course also covers a major and important part of Probability like algebra of sets, theorems and their applications, probability distribution: Binomial, Normal and Poisson, etc.
Probability and statistics are concerned with events which occur by chance. Examples include occurrence of accidents, errors of measurements, production of defective and nondefective items from a production line, and various games of chance, such as drawing a card from a well-mixed deck, flipping a coin, or throwing a symmetrical six-sided die. In each case we may have some knowledge of the likelihood of various possible results, but we cannot predict with any certainty the outcome of any particular trial. Probability and statistics are used throughout engineering. In electrical engineering, signals and noise are analyzed by means of probability theory. Civil, mechanical, and industrial engineers use statistics and probability to test and account for variations in materials and goods. Chemical engineers use probability and statistics to assess experimental data and control and improve chemical processes. It is essential for today’s engineer to master these tools.
Who this course is for:

Instructor
Hi, I'm Seema Ranaware, Author of the book ' Victim to Victory ' holding a Master's degree in 'Organic chemistry' from the University of Pune, India and also a Master's degree in 'Mathematics' from NIMS University, India. I have been teaching mathematics to engineering students for 10 years.
When I was a student, I was fortunate to learn the 'supposed- to- be- a- boring- subject' in a very easy and interesting manner. Whenever I see students around me with acute dislike towards mathematics, I wish they could have learnt it in a better way, like I learnt from my teachers.
As a tutor, over 10 years, I discovered my passion for teaching and pursued it willingly. I am glad that I could make many students believe that applied mathematics is fun to learn.
Any student taking this online course will experience the same simplicity in the teaching method and, I'm sure, will gain the confidence in-class tests and an exam of the subject they appear at.
I am also a life coach and motivational trainer, in case you face challenges like exam fear, memory improvement, low self-confidence, etc share your concern.
Wish you all the best and happy learning!
