Create a t shirt by importing an avatar, configuring fabric simulation, drawing and mirroring 2D patterns, sewing edges, adjusting folds, textures, and top stitches for a realistic cloth look.
Import the avatar, set up a pants pattern with belt loops, pockets, zippers, and hems, mirror and align pieces, simulate wrinkles, and apply textures and topstitching.
Develop and refine the short pattern by building front and back pieces with symmetry, curves, and belt, then configure grid, background image, and fabric to prepare a sewing-ready 3D preview.
Refine the sweatshirt by adjusting edge and folds, applying internal line offsets and 240-degree folds, adding topstitch layers, and texturing with a cream color for the final shorts.
Create pants with a pants medium fabric, shape the crotch curve, duplicate front and back patterns, and refine seams, belt loops, and wrinkles using internal lines and tension maps.
Load avatar clothing as subtools, split parts, and weld vertices in ZBrush; refine topology with ZRemesher, unwrap UVs, and add garment thickness using edge loops and panel loops.
Master a comprehensive ZBrush clothing workflow by fixing topology with weld points, using ZRemesher, unwrap, and edge loop panel loop to create export-ready UVs.
Build a jacket texture using fill layers, height maps, and masks; tune color, roughness, and metalness; add gold borders and topstitch with UV and path tools, then export in 4k.

Then I welcome you to Nexttut education's Advanced Marvelous Designer Course.
About Me:
My name is Solati, a digital clothing designer and instructor for Marvelous Designer. I’m working as a freelance clothing artist and 3D tutor. Over the past few years of working with Marvelous, I always wanted to create a course that’s not only complete and practical, but also fully project-based.
What You Will Learn:
Creating Basic Garments.
Posing a garment
Walking animation
Using Substance Painter for Texturing
Taking renders for presentation in Marmoset
Course Project Overview:
In this course, we start from scratch: learning the tools, creating two basic patterns like a T-shirt and pants.
We won’t go too deep into the tools this time , because we already covered that in the previous course.
Instead, we focus on three real projects.
The first one is a casual spring outfit. In this project, you’ll learn how to design and render a garment in a specific pose.
In the second project, we’ll design a formal women’s suit. We’ll face some challenges, try to simulate a simple walk cycle, and do a clean final render.
And in the last project, we’ll design a more creative outfit and import it into ZBrush. There, we’ll do some basic modifications — just enough to get familiar with the ZBrush workflow and prepare for more advanced work in the future.
We’ll also use Substance Painter for texturing, and Marmoset for rendering.
So, not only will you learn how to design clothing , but you’ll also end up with professional results that are ready to present or share.
Who is This Course For?
I have designed this course so that even beginners can use it easily. This course also teaches you how to animate your clothing and render it. You will learn how to render your garments and give them a better visual appeal.
The course is also for artists who want to speed up their workflow in Marvelous Designer and improve their skills in making Garments.
What Are The Requirements Or Prerequisites For Taking This Course?
You should have Marvelous Designer 2024 installed on your computer.
