So there is one major difference between these two so I will explain...
How to get your own personalized certificate for your wall—or a CEU certificate! directly from me when you complete the course
Here is a brief summary of what you can expect to learn with my course
Welcome to the course! You are about to learn how to treat your clients based on the evidence we now know about not only how pain is produced in the body but also how we need to treat our clients differently because of this.
As you go through the course you may be thinking whether what you have learned previously is still valid. Yes, absolutely it is. Here I will explain why.
Download these books so that you can read through them later to get a deep understanding of pain and how it is produced in the body and of course how we will then treat our clients
If you have never done IASTM or gua sha dont worry, you do not need any special tools to start with, you will have what you need in your home to get going.
Here is how we will now treat our clients using IASTM/gua sha techniques, its not what you have been taught previously
How is it possible that people have degeneration in their discs, cartilage tears, herniations, osteoathritic joints and many more pathologies but zero pain and then others have the same problems and are in lots of pain?
So much of what we have been taught, and what I have been teaching is not correct now that we know much of the recent evidence in the past several years. Knowing what we now know, we can use a different approach to increase ROM, decrease pain and get better results.
Now that you know how pain is produced, here is how you need to start treating your clients.
I have always taught you in my professional cupping therapy course and also my gua sha courses that it's completely unnecessary to make the red marks on the bodies of your clients. Now we know why I got such great results and you will too!
We are NOT doing what we thought that we were therapeutically. YES, we are increasing ROM and decreasing pain but not for the reasons we thought.
If, after just hearing the last lecture, you would like to see more evidence, no problems. I have it for you.
It is time to do some practice not that you know the theory
What I have taught you is not only probably new to you but it is also really important that you understand it so that from now on you will understand that the treatment itself is only a small part of your therapeutic effects on your clients
Based on what you now know, you want to use this to your advantage!
With the light treatments that you have been taught, would there ever be a reason to go deeper on your clients? Yes, there is.
My Facebook group and Instagram are great resources for you
It is important for you also to know that 85-90% of your clients will get better quickly, we know that from research from the McKenzie institute from their records of tens of thousands of clients. Here I explain how to tell which clients respond quickly and the small percentage that do not.
This is to me, the best and simplest way to address your clients when you first see them and its what I have used for over 25 years with thousands of clients successfully
Now that you have questioned your client, it's time to do an active assessment to check their ROM and any pain or tightness produced. This is vitally important to do so that you can re-assess after and show the evidence of progress to your clients thus giving positive reinforcement of how much better they are.
Now lets do that to our client and I will go through it for you in more detail so that you have a good idea
Now lets look at treating the neck to improve cervical ROM, pain, headaches, posture, shoulder ROM and neck tension/tightness
Treating the neck with Gua Sha/IASTM in a seated position
This step in the treatment protocol is also vitally important so do not forget to do this. Your results with your clients will speak for themselves.
Here are some other excellent techniques that you can also use to create novel stimuli for your clients
If you do nothing else, give your clients this to do at home between visits no matter what part of the body. I did this with virtually every client of mine and got outstanding results and you will too. Remember that if you have them doing exercises or using this technique your clients will get better results. We know this from the research.
Now, using the same system that you have been taught for the neck, you can duplicate it for the lower back
Treating the back with Gua Sha/IASTM in a prone position
Treating the back with Gua Sha/IASTM in a seated position
Remember that you want to empower your clients so that they are aware that they are an active participant in getting themselves better. This will decrease their fears and therefore their pain.
How to do the prone extensions from a face down position
How to do the standing extensions if you cannot lie down for whatever reasons
Here I will quickly show you how to apply kinesiology taping
I will show you how to use kinesiology taping to help the lower back
Now lets take a look at treating the shoulder-Treating the shoulder with Gua Sha/IASTM in a prone position
Treating the shoulder with Gua Sha/IASTM in a supine position
Treating the shoulder with Gua Sha/IASTM in a seated position to start challenging it functionally
Here I show you how to teach some simple exercises that are incredibly effective for the vast majority of clients with shoulder problems
Now lets take a look at treating the knees, thighs and ITBs
The next progression-Treating the knees, thighs and ITBs in a seated position
Treating the knees in a standing position so that we can now start challenging it functionally
This is another terrific therapeutic tool that you may like to use as well
So what is the mechanism or mechanisms behind tissue flossing? Why do so many people swear by it? Lets see.
Now I will show you how to apply it
Now we will look at the knee joint using tissue flossing. If you or your clients have knee pain, stiffness or decreased range of motion then you can do this taping technique.
Lets now take a look at the different ways that we can treat the hamstrings
Its time to treat elbow and forearm pain and stiffness
Lets take a look at treating these now
Here I show you how to apply tissue flossing to the wrists and hands. This is great for you to use on yourself as a massage therapist as well
Now you should have a very good idea of what to do, lets look at the ankles, lower legs, shin splints, achilles problems and plantar fasciitis
I havent included every single area of the body as you should be already well versed in what to do by now and howe to apply the methods and techniques wherever your clients have pain or restrictions.
Congratulations you have completed the course!
