Beginning of Identity, Holy Ideas, Essence, SourceLight exercise from The Course, Part 2, "Wake Up from. the trance of Suffering," "Enneagram is a 9-headed dragon of delusions."
Diplomatic Warrior archetype--9 fixation, Holy Love, delusion that Love is "local"--conditional. Essence is lovable; Fixation Not lovable
"sat-chit-ananda", "life is the way it is"--can't control that, but can control my reactions to it, peaceful, all things to all people
Time, Dirt, Money--areas on control for all Warrior archetypes. 9 ego-fixation subtypes, Holy Love is what makes the universe lovable
When you experience yourself through the Holy Ideas of the 9,8,1, you experience yourself as God, not as a human being; through Holy Ideas of the 6,5,7 as a human being, who knows himself/herself as a reflection of God; through Holy Ideas of the 3,2,4 it's about doing, functioning, living--what its like to act from an non-egoic perspective.
beginning of Powerful Warrior archetype--8 fixation, Holy Truth. No duality.
Powerful Warrior archetype sub-types, end of 8 fixation characteristics.
Holy Ideas, continued. Non-duality. Perfection versus perfectionism. Enlightened point of view.
Righteous Warrior archetype--1 fixation. Holy Perfection. Resentful ego/anger, "something wrong with me--prove there is nothing wrong--watching, comparing, judging. Exhausting
Righteous Warrior archetyp--1 fixation subtypes: worry, social reformer, jealousy
Moralizing for the upliftment of the world. End of Righteous Warrior archetype--1 fixation
RECAP of Warrior archetypes: Diplomatic, Powerful and Righteous Warrior archetypes (9,8,1 fixations) and recap of Holy Ideas: Holy Love, Holy Truth and Holy Perfection
Seeker archetypes, starting with Competent Seeker--6 fixation on the Enneagram. Holy Faith, difference between Holy Ideas of the Seeker archetypes, different from the Warrior archetypes
Infinite Intelligence is masked by the false belief "I AM MY MIND," just as Pure Presence was is masked by the false belief "I AM MY BODY."
End of the Competent Seeker archetype: 6 fixation
Specialist Seeker archetype: Enneagram 5: Holy Omniscience.
Attachment to mental thoughts and beliefs as a way of staying safe--Internal attachment to ideas--they give a sense of certainty to the 5 fixation. Subtypes of the 5 fixation.
Optimistic Seeker archetype--Enneagram 7 fixation. 7 Essence is samadhi: peace and bliss, but the ego imitation is the gluttony of sense pleasures that overwhelm and suppress the fear of all Seeker archetypes.
7 fixations always have a plan. My teacher, Eli Jaxon Bear said "the 7 fixation is the 5 inside out--the 5 fixation is this deep, tender, unavailable and retreating person; the 7 fixation is buoyant--don't know where the emotions are, don't really care as long as we're having fun."
Most of us--especially 7 fixations are trying to get happiness inside the cage of desires. DESIRELESSNESS is the spiritual goal--7 fixation has to be willing to die to desires in order to experience true happiness. Tough road for the 7 fixation ego.
Successful Achiever archetype--3 ego fixation. Essence of LOVE ITSELF (Ananda: Bliss) becomes "I am my emotional experiences." Achievers use their talent for CONNECTION to try to get love and respect from others to validate us as human beings.
Delusion that I am a "separate doer"--"I have to make it happen--always striving. Life is not a movie--it's an illusion--little pieces of film projected on a screen--and we know it when we're in a theatre, but NOT when we come out and think WE made it happen. Holy Idea is Holy Law
Deceit runs this fixation. And the 3 fixation knows it--knows it's a bit of a fraud.
Subtypes: prestige, status hierarchy, ownership (of what they do), right look
Successful Achiever--3 ego-fixation end. Put it all together
Helpful Achiever archetype: 2 ego fixation. Pride of Place. The need to be needed.Essence is Kindness, but ego imitation is kindness in order to be needed.
The idea of a separate will, instead of Holy Will. Delusion of egoic pride--your own will which will get you your own way. No surrender. "The power behind the throne."
End of the 2 ego fixation. Subtypes: pride of place, seduction, ambition.
"I AM UNIQUE," is the battlecry. But the Unique Achievers archetypes: 4 ego-fixation believe there was always something "wrong" with them. More than any other fixation the Unique Achiever archetype know that it is connected to the Source of JOY., but the fixation has an unique, emotional need to be the hero/heroine of a great romantic drama.
4 ego fixation--Unique Achiever archetype feels disconnected, estranged, alienated, cast out, abandoned. The 5 ego fixation--Specialist Seeker--feels isolated, which is different, because it's from other people. The melancholy and despair of the 4 fixation is disconnected from the Beloved--the Source, estranged from the Source, which it knew in early childhood.
Subtypes: shame--pride of place for the social 2 ego-fixation is replaced by the shame of NOT being on the throne--biggest obstacle--great style with emotional wounding--alive through pain, dauntless--most like 3 ego fixation--willing to succeed despite the flaws. Roxanne, the Steve Martin movie from 1987 where Steve Martin dances, tells jokes, but is a 4 fixation playing the tragic romantic Cyrano in his adaptation. competetion--competes with his/her lover--most unique style of dressing--most obviously a 4-ego fixation
Wrap-up of the whole journey. Reminder about the SourceLight process from The Course, Part 2. Remember, everything and everyone is just ONE, which is what all this background information about stories is pointing to all along.
A course that bridges the gap between recognizing our limited archetypal ego stories as just part of the Essence of who we really are: Oneness that encompasses everything and everyone as none other than our own Awakened Self. This Advanced Enneagram course picks up where The Course, Part 2 left off and moves into the area of Awakening through the Holy Ideas of the Enneagram--the way to Live an awakened life. The inner triangle of the Enneagram encompasses the fixations I call archetypes--Warrior, Seeker, Achiever. There are three of each of these archetypes--a core point (9,6,3) and an inner and an outer (9,1;5,7;4,2) which makes up nine--Enneagram means "nine-pointed." Each of these points has its story, and all of us know these stories, but the Enneagram has a laser-sharp focus that unveils the delusions of each story. When those veils are lifted, we are left with our Essence: Pure Presence, Infinite Intelligence and Love Itself: sat, chit, ananda or satchitananda. What a blessing!
This Advanced Enneagram course brings together wisdom from Eastern and Western mysticism, the Enneagram from Chilean psychiatrists in a centuries old tradition, and Indian philosophy of Advaita Vedanta. It is a practical approach, not difficult to understand for student who know there is more to life than the stories we've all been telling ourselves and others for millennia.
