This lesson will walk you through the different parts of Adobe Photoshop. The commonly used and known panels/windows are the Toolbar, Menu Bar, and the Layers Panel. Explore more of Photoshop's interface and know each of their functions.

There are multiple Image Adjustment options in Photoshop that you can use to fix the color and tone of your images. One of the most commonly used is the Brightness/Contrast. This lesson will walk you through different Image Adjustment options that you can use to improve the quality of your photos.
Using Levels Adjustment is a professional technique to adjust the shadow areas of an image. The three major areas of image correction using Levels are: shadows, midterms, and highlights. Explore how you can effectively use Levels Adjustment through this course.
One way to fix an underexposed photo is by using the Levels which is one of the Image Adjustment options. This video discusses tips on how to identify if an image has an incorrect color representation and how you can fix it using Levels.
You can use the white point tool from the Levels panel to turn an area of an image into white. You can do the same process for darkening areas but using the black point selection. Learn more through this course!
Curves is very similar to Levels, except it is more precise. Let's deep dive on different techniques to correct color and density of photos using Curves adjustments.
You can equalize or redistribute tonal range in your photos by using Shadow/Highlights. It is one of the Image Adjustment options that you can use to correct color and density of photos.
Vibrance is one of the image adjustment options in Adobe Photoshop. It increases the saturation of muted colors in an image and prevents skin tones from becoming over saturated.
Hue/Saturation command in Adobe Photoshop allows you to adjust the colors in your image based on hue, saturation, and lightness. You can make corrective and creative changes to the colors of any image using this feature.
Hue/Saturation command also allows you to change the color of the image based on your preference. Take this course and find out how you can play and change colors of your photos.
Selection tools allow you to control or exclude certain elements that you don’t want to change in an image. These tools include the Marquee Tools, Lasso Tools, and Quick Selection/Magic Wand Tools. Learn how you can effectively use these tools through this course.
Magic Wand tool is one of Photoshop selection tools which is used to quickly select an object you want to isolate. Just like the Magic Wand tool, Quick Selection tool allows you to delete or edit your specific selections without affecting the rest of the photo.
Vignette is a Photoshop effect which is a great way to bring focus on a certain part of your photo. It adds a subtle effect on images to draw the viewer’s attention. Watch how you can add this effect to your photo with the application of Photoshop's selection tools.

The concept of retouching in Adobe Photoshop entails the removal of unwanted artifacts in an image. One tool that you can use for this is called the Clone Stamp Tool. Learn more from this course.
Spot Healing Brush and Clone Stamp are both Photoshop tools used for removing unwanted objects from your image. The difference is that Spot Healing Brush uses an algorithm to work out the best pixels to use, while Clone Stamp tool requires you to identify the exact sampling detail to be copied.
Patch Tool is a retouching tool that clones larger patches or larger areas of an image. The effect of Patch tool is similar to Spot Healing Brush where it blends new and old pixels by matching their texture, lighting, and shading. The difference is that Patch tool uses selection-defined areas instead of a brush.
Content-Aware Fill and Red Eye Tool are both features of Photoshop that you can use for retouching purposes. Content-Aware Fill allows you to cover areas of the image that you want hidden or removed. On the other hand, Red Eye Tool allows you to fix the glowing red eye color that appears on photos caused by on-camera flash.
Crop tool is a very useful tool for repositioning your center of interest in an image. It allows you to apply the concept of rule of thirds to photos by placing the center of interest to either the left or right third. Watch this video to learn more about the crop tool and the rule of thirds in photography.
Layers work like sheets of stacked acetate for overhead projectors. Layers are used to work on multiple images, adding text to an image, creating layer masks, and adding vector graphic shapes.
This lesson talks about adding a text layer using the Type tool, adjusting the opacity level of a layer, arranging the stacking order of layers, and saving your working file in PSD format.
Some people might think that layer masking is just similar to using Opacity and/or Eraser tool. These techniques are all used to control transparency and hiding areas of an image. The difference is that layer masking is completely non-destructive. Opacity affects the whole layer, while eraser tool causes permanent damage to your image.
This lesson will walk you through the use of Free Transform and creating a layer mask using Quick Selection tool. Layer Masking can be done easily and more precisely if you make use of selection tools like marquee, lasso and quick selection tool.
Select and Mask feature is focused on creating and refining masks. It is most useful when you want to cut out a subject that has a lot of hair stands flowing away in the background.
Some images are captured with huge difference in brightness range or in dynamic range. Layer Masking can also be used to even out the dynamic range in two photographs that has too bright highlights and has too dark shadows. Learn more in this course!
Focus Area is a feature in Adobe Photoshop that allows you to easily select areas of an image that are in focus. It is very helpful when you need to isolate a person or subject from the background.
Throughout this course, we will celebrate your progress at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. I really want you to succeed but you need to take action and keep going so look forward to these milestones of progress. I will see you there and cheer you on as you keep going from one milestone to the next >>
Soft Focus is a Photoshop effect that is usually used for portraits to add a smooth flowing and soft glow effect. Take this course to find out more!
Adjustment Layers are special kind of layers in Photoshop that applies color and tonal adjustments to your image without making permanent changes to its pixel values. The adjustment rests on its own layer above the image layer.
Blending Modes in Photoshop change the way the layers react with each other. These are effects that you can add to a layer to change it blends with the colors on lower layers. This feature is a very useful in applying overlays and textures without creating layer masks.
Clipping Mask offers a very essential way of controlling the visibility of a layer. It connects multiple layers where the bottommost layer defines the visibility of the clipped layers above it. This is a very cool effect where an image is clipped inside your text!
Photomerge is great feature in Adobe Photoshop that allows you to create a panorama, comparison, and collage. Once the Photomerge process is completed, the images will appear stacked in separate layers. You can invoke this feature from Adobe Bridge, but you can also do it straight from Adobe Photoshop. Learn how you can use this feature by taking this course.
