Description

ADAS Equine Land Management Academy 'Module 1' is a structured introductory course on sustainable yard management, comprised of 15-30 min pre-recorded, webinar style presentations on a range of themes. Each presentation is followed by an additional exercise that will help you apply the knowledge to your own case and hopefully apply some of the solutions we talk about in practice. Feel free to take notes throughout and engage in the exercises to make the most out of this course!

The themes we touch on here are: water use, yard waste and manure management, energy use and saving possibilities as well as sustainable pasture management. This module will help you answer the below questions:

  • How can sustainable land management serve our horses?

  • What does ‘sustainable’ mean for equine land?

  • How can improving sustainability save money?

  • What are some of the easy and more complex solutions I could implement in my yard, pastures and stables to improve the general sustainability and make my paddock more environmentally friendly?

The course is aimed at anyone who is interested in general equine land management, currently owns or manages horses, manages pastures and stables and would like to learn more about improvements on how to make positive changes in their premisses.

We are planning to continue growing the Equine Land Management Academy and release additional courses that will expand on the topics from Module 1, cover additional detailed topics around equine management, and supplement this course nicely.

Who this course is for:

  • People managing/owning horses and others interested in equine land management and sustainability to benefit equine welfare.
