Who’s counting on you.
Who are YOU doing this for.
Congratulations on making it to your official first step of “Action Plan to Secure a Great Job”. This step is all about figuring out what your ideal job will be at the end of this amazing journey we are taking together.
Here’s the brief on how to complete this step:
1- Identify your ideal industry (It's usually the things you loved to do between the age of 5-15).
2- Make a list of top 10 places/companies you want to work at in your chosen industry.
3- In each company, list down to 2-3 similar jobs which are the most suitable for you.

I will see you in your step # 2!
Good luck,
Aqib.
A resume mood board is how your ideal resume at the end needs to look like. Remember the list of jobs you identified last time? Yes we will be using them and the requirements they have to make your ideal resume.
Mood boards help you communicate your thoughts and vision into a visual representation. There have been tons of research and examples where we clearly see how a mood board helps you get to your ideal life.
Here’s the summary of the tasks you need to do in order to finish your step # 2:
Look at the requirements of your ideal jobs.
Write them all down and see which ones are overlapping.
Fill your resume mood board for the ideal jobs you have chosen as if you are ready to apply with all the experience that you need.
When you are done with your step # 2, click on the "tick box" to keep yourself accountable for every step along the program.
Best regards,
Aqib.
In your step # 3, we will be visualizing life 5 years from now when you have that first ideal job and you are living your best life.
Before you begin, just put your phone on silent for notifications and if you live with housemates - tell them to not disturb for the next 10 to 15 minutes.
You can listen to this audio as many times as you wan to get your mind familiar with your vision.

Today’s step is one of my favorite as it’s going to be counted as your “work experience” in your next steps which we will get to later.
Social entrepreneurship is an approach of business which gives solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. SEV is an idea to impact the world with a business you start on the rule of 80:20. It means 80% of your earnings you can spend on yourself; you can invest back in your business etc and the rest of the 20% goes into helping the community.
The tasks you need to finish for this step are very simple and it will help you big time in your steps ahead. They are as follow:
Come up with a simplest business idea which you can implement using your skills and resources. Here’s a list of a few ideas.
Make sure the business idea somehow directly or indirectly relates to your ideal work experience you wrote down in your resume mood board. It needs to match at least 3-4 requirements of the ideal jobs you mentioned before.
The idea needs to be able to help the community, the world.
Lastly, execute the idea for at least 4-6 weeks! (Side note, people usually end up doing this for more than 6 weeks which is fantastic because more experience)
I strongly suggest you add an alarm in your phone for a date which is 4-6 weeks from now to remind you to come back for next step and keep yourself accountable. I am so excited for you to finish this step.
When you are done with your step # 4, click on the "tick box" to keep yourself accountable for every step along the program (Ideally 4-6 weeks from now).
This step plays an important role in our journey together. This is what determines the “more than me” concept. Plus, this is a great way to build strong connections which will help you in the future when you are landing your ideal job.
This step is going to help you with having a credible source (an organisation’s official) which can vouch for your devotion, your compassion, your work ethic when you are applying for your ideal job.
Remember, we are gathering our experience for that ideal resume you made in the very beginning. Follow the tasks below to finish this step like a pro:
1- Go through the list of organisations/charities/websites below and see if you can find something suitable for you.
Websites to find the right volunteer space for you:
Volunteermatch
Idealist
Allforgood
Specific organisations you can find opportunities with:
Aiesec
Ashoka
QS World Merit
2- If you fail to find the organisation from the list above, research more organisations/charities which fit your requirements near you or globally.
3- Register/join Hands with them.
4- Implement 1 community project/quarter (For starters: 1 in 4 months)
5- Build strong authentic relation with the managers/seniors/heads.
While you finish this step, you can move onto the next step however make sure to execute this 1 project quarter for at least 3-4 quarters. During that period, make sure you have built strong authentic relationships with your head of city, your country manager in the organisation or someone who’s a senior and can give you a gold recommendation when the time comes for it.
When you are done with your first community project, click on the "tick box" to keep yourself accountable for every step along the program.
I will see you in your next step!
Welcome to your step 6! This is one of my favorite steps because it's time to dip our toes into the water. It's time to find yourself an internship:
I have made a simple flow for you to help you get the right internship for yourself:
Research companies: ask your connections from the last 2 stages (this is really important and its time to utilise your connections to its potential) to help you and also go through the resources provided below:
Aiesec global talent
Wayup
Internships.com
Youthop
Youtern.com
Idealist
Global experiences
Coolworks
Once you have found your ideal internships spaces, ask yourself: does the internship help your ideal job requirement: Yes / No (if no, then go back to step 1)
is the company/work humanity plus or minus. (If humanity minus, then go back to step 1).
Once you find it, apply.
When you are done with your step # 6, click on the "tick box" to keep yourself accountable for every step along the program.
Today, we will go ahead and update our resume. This is a really good time in our journey together to see what are the white spaces in your resume you need to work on or if you are ahead of the game when it comes to applying for your ideal job.
When updating your resume, I want you to research what the current updated ideal resume template look like. Then play with it.
Here I have provided you an efficient resume’s order which people have used after 2019-ish and it worked great for them.
Contact information on the top (or on the side).
Work experience (list the most recent one on top).
Academic background.
Other skills.
Make sure your resume is no more than a page long unless you are a PHD fellow then you can make it more than 1 page. Ideally, you should update your resume every 3-6 months.
Once you are done with this exciting step, click on the "tick box" and come back for the next step. I have a fun challenge waiting for you.
Welcome to your exciting step # 8. It's time to interrupt your pattern.
In this step, I need you to look for opportunities, internships, conferences and other ways you can break your pattern of fixating on just one industry and get a better perspective of what you wanna do either in your chosen industry or another similar one. Let me breakdown your tasks to you step by step:
Find out what work you would do if you weren’t doing what you are already doing.
Next step - apply.
Once you get in, be transparent about your skills to your employer. Then play full out. Learn, grow, fall and take action.
Build strong connections.
Instead of broadening your horizons, go beyond it!
When you are done with your step # 8, click on the "tick box" to keep yourself accountable for every step along the program.
