    Discover cost-efficient epoxy resin art techniques, applying pigments and spray paint to craft a bold, negative-space design with a strong focal point.

  • Priming Process1:24

    Prime and seal wood panels and canvas fibers with a heavier, water-based latex primer of thicker consistency, applied with a six-inch short-nap roller to seal veneer and achieve even coverage.

  • Let's Roll6:12

    Prime bare oak veneer with a latex primer for a smooth, flat surface, then apply an even base coat; dry in hour, and epoxy resin yields a crystal-clear shine.

  • Black Base Coat5:04

    Apply a large black base coat directly on the board, roll it out evenly, suspend borders on tripods, then let it dry quickly before resin spray paints and pigments.

  • Mixing the Epoxy Resin13:53

    Mix equal parts epoxy resin a and b (21 oz each, 42 oz total), add pigments, spread evenly with a trowel on a level surface, and cure 24 hours.

  • The Design21:56

    Apply and spread epoxy resin across the panel, tilt to edge for even coverage, then flood coat for a glass-like finish while creatively blending acrylic pigments and alcohol-fractured spray effects.

  • Final Flood Coat17:51

    Mix equal parts a and b resin, measure precisely, then apply a final flood coat for an even edge-to-edge finish, and cure for 24–48 hours.

  • Let's Hang It2:45

    Flip the finished painting after twenty-four hours to a glass-like finish, hang it using two screws, measure four inches from the top, and sign your masterpiece.

Requirements

  • Basic painting skills, but not really necessary. I will show you step by step and give you the confidence to create paintings like the ones found in any contemporary art gallery.
  • Materials Required: Large canvas, wood panel, assorted acrylic paints, gesso or primer, spray paint, color pigments, rubbing alcohol, stencils, your favorite printed image, epoxy resin, glitter, varnish, small, medium and large brushes, foam roller, pallet knife
  • The desire to let loose, have fun and not worry about making mistakes.

In this course we will be creating 2 beautiful, large modern  paintings. I will show you step by step how to work with epoxy resin, acrylic paints,  stencils, glitter, spray paint and more to give you the confidence you need to paint loose and carefree without the worry of making mistakes. I share my secret techniques that took me over 20 years to perfect.

I will cover the usage of regular unconventional art tools and materials to add interest and excitement to your masterpiece.

Without spending a fortune on art supplies, you'll learn how to paint your own original modern abstract art on canvas and wood substrates.

I discuss the paints and
brushes that I like to use and the different mediums to add glimmer and glow to your piece.
