Description

Welcome To Abstract Still Life Paintings with Acrylics and Mixed Media.

In this class you will learn various techniques for painting loose, expressive still life art. It's recommended for intermediate and advanced artists that want to break away from rigid, tight artwork. However, I've included a 'what makes this painting work' for each demo so you can learn what holds it together even though it's loosely painted.

Behind every successful painting is a good design and composition. That and color harmony is the icing on the cake. Together these ideas will help support an expressive work of art. Without them, it will simply fall apart.

Testimonials

I love the projects! Prepping the paper and collage is a lot of fun and I find it super inspiring. The "Why does this painting work" segments are so helpful to me. I have struggled with design and composition and understanding how to make the Rule of Thirds work for me, along with color harmony has helped make my paintings/projects better.

Darla Dale

Robert is so inspiring. I love how he is up-cycling old scrap paper and leftover paint into super interesting stuff. Excited to try this my way.

This is the class I enjoyed the most so far. I responded to all my needs: getting loose, having fun while painting, playing like a child, without analyzing too much all the while with a clear analysis of the composition and design choices. Great class all over. If I one day become a "true" artist, I will surely mention his teachings' effect on me. Thank you!
