This is a beginner's course on how to make digital abstract artworks, using the completely free drawing software "Krita". We will cover both theory and practice efficiently and precisely, so that everyone can understand what makes great abstract art.

In this course you will learn the most important concepts and principles of abstract art, like colour theory and shape theory. But also how to use contrast, how to make unique artworks and what mindsets are useful for artists.

Additionally, we will create 3 distinct artworks together, to practice abstract art. Each of them showcasing different methods of creation in Krita, so you have a good overview and practical experience with the most important functions to create abstract art.

I'm Duplo, a digital artist, designer and consultant, and I've been making abstract artworks for quite a few years. In my opinion it's one of the best ways to practice art and design principles.

Because abstract art is so pure, it forces you to perfect the basics of art, like colour, shape and composition. Also, it's pretty much always fun.

For your course project, follow the course to make the 3 artworks in Krita. They can look different than mine (different colours, shapes etc.) but try to replicate my process and principles, to make similar looking art.
