BIO
When I was 25, a profound spiritual experience drastically altered the course of my life. During the summer, I attended a Buddhist retreat. On the third day, an indescribable feeling engulfed me, one I can only describe as unconditional love, incomparable to anything else. This sensation lingered for three weeks, which was followed by spontaneous lucid dreams.
I had a new job in investment banking lined up for September, in a field I had studied for the previous five years. But that never happened. I couldn’t bring myself to begin, as I was fully immersed in reading about my spiritual experience and meditating. The next few years were devoted to understanding and integrating my transformation, marking the onset of an intense inward journey. Instead of becoming a finance professional, I was drawn to tutoring young people and I eventually became a teacher. Lucid dreaming and meditation became my essential spiritual practices, enabling anyone to experience mind-expanding states of consciousness without drugs or religious faith.
I feel fortunate that my passion is my vocation: writing, teaching, coaching, facilitating workshops, helping people connect, and of course lucid dreaming. In one sense, I’m always working; in another, I’m never working. In my experience, the freedom to follow one’s passion can be achieved through deliberate actions, even amid fear and doubt. Perseverance and continuous self-improvement were vital to me.
What does self-improvement mean to me?
Perspective thinking: Viewing things from various angles.
Metacognition: Systematically examining our reactions and feelings.
Compassion: Building better connections with others and ourselves.
Our past and environment continually exert a powerful influence on us, often overpoweringly. What I’ve observed is that the way these factors affect our emotions and actions mainly depends on our mindset, self-knowledge, and intentions. Those who embrace this realization are more likely to feel that life is supporting them. This aligns with the principles of ‘God helps those who help themselves,’ the ‘law of attraction’, and the concept of good ‘karma’.
Introspective work, therapy, meditation, and lucid dreaming are tools that help us break free from limiting, conditioned patterns and unrecognized defense mechanisms. They also help us overcome our programmed need to conform to external expectations that don’t serve us.
This is what ‘transcending our Karma’ means to me.
Lucid Dreaming my primary spiritual practice, helps us to step out of conditioned patterns and reactions through experience. Buddhist Dream Yoga is regarded as the royal method of enlightenment in Tibet, and its secular counterpart is Lucid Dreaming as a method of Psychological Self-awareness and therapy. It enables us to see from a higher viewpoint, reminding us that we are the sculptors of our lives, able to change and thrive.
Additionally, it is worth noting that lucid dreaming is among the most exhilarating experiences one can have in life.
My origins
My tendencies to reflect about my thinking (good thing) and ruminate (bad thing) trace back to my youth. Secondary school was a struggle; I was bored and unengaged. Family expectations clashed with my reality, leading to shame, anxiety, and creative suppression. At 19, I moved to the UK to seek a new life.
In my search to better understand myself, I dove into psychology and discovered some practical ways to learn, such as hands-on experiences. Despite having ADHD, I found my way into teaching maths in schools. I have experienced both sides of the educational system, giving me a unique perspective on the challenges students face. I am convinced that our current educational systems are outdated, often hindering individuals from reaching their full potential.
To find freedom and success, we must take development into our own hands. We must discover our interests and talents and seek assistance in turning them into livelihoods. Building meaningful relationships and finding our life’s purpose are crucial, and anything that enhances self-knowledge can be transformative.
In my pursuit of self-knowledge, I’ve discovered that lucid dreaming can unlock hidden or suppressed creativity and provide firsthand experiences that help us identify our passions or reveal where we’re stuck in our personal growth. Along this journey, I’ve also ventured into entrepreneurship, using these insights to create meaningful and impactful experiences for others.
Through my work, I aim to help people foster better connections with themselves and others. Join me on this hands-on journey of exploration toward self-discovery, self-actualization, and transformation.
