Mr. Metz has completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences in Germany, awarded in February 2016. In addition, he has gained more than three years of progressively responsible employment and experience in the field of electronic engineering, wherein he was entrusted with responsibility for increasingly senior-level and complex duties in electronic engineering, systems analysis, programming, and automation engineering. An education evaluation conducted by The Trustforte Corporation in New York has established that, based upon Mr. Metz’s completion of studies at the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences in Germany and his more than three years of progressive professional experience in the field of electronic engineering, he has attained the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education in the United States.

Mr. Metz has been continuously employed within the worldwide operations of BASF since July 2009, when he commenced employment with the parent company in Germany, BASF SE. During the course of his tenure with BASF, he has served in positions of increasing responsibility and technical specialization, including tenure as Automation Engineer, the position that he has held with the parent company in Germany, BASF SE, since September 2015. In this critical capacity, Mr. Metz is responsible for developing a proprietary BASF prototype for robotic systems.

Throughout his employment in German operations, Mr. Metz has built and applied his in-depth knowledge of automation concepts for robots in BASF-specific process operations. Mr. Metz’ specialized knowledge has been developed exclusively at and for BASF. This specialized knowledge skill set acquired over his tenure with BASF positions him well to combine his engineering background and automation expertise.

In his new role as Technology and Business Scout his keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills will serve him to screen, analyze, and evaluate market and technology trends that can help address global megatrends and maintain BASF’s position as a world leader in diverse industries (e.g., construction, health and nutrition, performance materials). With his project management skills and ability to collaborate effectively, he will bring project ideas to life - maturing unstructured ideas to proof-of-concepts and prototypes in partnership with business partners and other key stakeholders. Further he will turn successful innovation projects into new products or services that serve our customers’ strategic goals. Successfully engaging inside and outside the organization, he will cultivate relationships, manage innovation communities, and spark open innovation with industry leaders, academic institutions, start-ups, and others to create synergistic partnerships that accelerate BASF innovation and affiliated technologies.
