A Vampire in Photoshop is a fun way to learn different image manipulation techniques, and tools in Photoshop. There are plenty of tutorials on turning a portrait into a Vampire, but few show how to make the image look "real." This tutorial shows how to manipulate the image so the final result looks as if physical makeup, and appliances were used.

This course is suited for Beginners, as well as Intermediate level Photoshop users, and covers Photoshop CS3 and above.

There are simple short cut keys that are almost universal throughout programs. For example, CONTROL/COMMAND + C is Copy in both Word and Photoshop. This lecture covers other shortcut keys that will not only help with this course, but also help in your other Photoshop projects, and documents.

One of the most popular questions I've received about this vampire makeover is "How did you lighten the skin, and not lose any of the skin texture?"
Covered are techniques to lighten, and darken the skin, as well as removing moles & beauty marks from the model. Tools used include the Clone Stamp, Layer Masks, Blending Modes, and Selection tools.
Though this lecture is one of the longest in this course, each step is explained so even the novice can follow along.
Creating Vampire Skin

Removing moles, or freckles, is one thing, but how do you remove clothing and replace it with skin? The methods used in this lecture show how to remove tank top straps, but can also be used for swim suits, or underwear… calm down, this is not an XRAY SPECS trick, lol. Tools used are the Patch tool, and Clone Stamp tool.

One of the ways to make our model look more "vampire" and less human, is by distorting the face and pointing the ears. The main tool used in this lecture is the Liquify filter.

Removing a background can be simple if the background is a solid, or consistant color, but what about more complex areas? Methods used in this lecture include Layer Masking, and working with Selection tools.
Removing the background

Adding in a background is rarely going to look right by doing a simple "cut and paste." This lecture shows a method of how to blend the main subject of your photo with almost any background and make the final image look correct. Methods used include Layer Styles, and Modifying Selections
